Nestling at the foot of the Sinai Mountains and situated in between Sharm El Sheikh and Nuweiba lies the laid back resort of Dahab.

Dahab means 'gold' in Arabic. In Sinai it means golden sands, turquoise sea and off-beat cafe life. It is a focus of tourism development, with swaying palms, fine sand and wonderful snorkeling opportunities. About 5 miles from town is the famous Blue Hole, for diving.

Dahab is world-renowned for its windsurfing. Reliable winds provide superb flat water conditions inside Dahab's sand spit. Beyond the sand spit, wavy conditions couple with strong winds to provide formidable conditions for keen windsurfers.

Sip an expresso and have a banana pancake at one of the Bedouin style cafes that look out across the beach or sample some fresh local seafood offerings. Barter for local buys which include cotton garments, rugs, glass beads and crafts.
