This enchanting island with its picture postcard scenery is an artist's paradise. Being twice the size of its neighbour, Skiathos, but much more peaceful, Skopelos with its flower filled courtyards, pretty cobbled streets and hillsides blanketed by greenery. It paints a breathtaking picture on your approach into the harbour upon arrival.

Over one hundred tiny chapels are dotted around the town creating a striking contrast against the deep blue skies. More than 50% of the island is covered by a virgin forest of pine trees.

Skopelos has been officially named by the International Organisation of Biopolitics in 1997, as the "Green and Blue Island" due to its vast amount of lush green forest, and beautiful blue sea.
