The family run Thalassi Hotel Apartments are situated in a quiet location in Stavromenos, just a short walk from the lovely golden sands of Thalassi beach. There are a number of bars and restaurants within 2 kilometres and the town of Rethymnon with its Venetian harbour and cosmopolitan atmosphere is around 10 kilometres away. There are 41 studios and apartments spread over two floors in a number of four storey blocks. In the first block you will find the reception, the restaurant, a mini market, a satellite TV lounge and the internet corner. The bar and the lovely swimming pool area are between the first and the second block. These welcoming apartments offer good amenities, comfortable accommodation and good self catering facilities.

Elounda Residence is situated on a hill, 800 meters from the centre opposite the picturesque harbour of Elounda and it's beach. The Elounda Residence offers guests a quality service in a quiet and cosy atmosphere. This lovely hotel features a host of facilities to suit all ages. The one bedroom apartments are tastefully furnished and well appointed with the modern amenities required for a comfortable stay. Elounda Residence Hotel has a large swimming pool, whilst children can have fun in their own pool and playground. The pool is surrounded by a sun terrace with loungers, umbrellas and a pool-side bar serving cooling refreshments throughout the day. Guests can dine at the hotels onsite restaurant serving excellent Mediterranean cuisine and international cuisine. Guests can take advantage of the hotel's all-inclusive package that provides all meals, snacks and drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic available at a supplement. The Liza Mari Complex offers a simple standard of accommodation. A 200 metre walk will take you to the nearest beach and a one kilometre walk to the picturesque harbour. The pool at the complex is the perfect spot to relax during the day. The pool is surrounded by a sun terrace with loungers, umbrellas and a pool-side bar serving cooling refreshments throughout the day. At guests disposal there is a nice reception area with safety deposit boxes available and the bar. During warm summer evenings guests can relax with a drink on their own private balcony or terrace. The complex offers comfortable but basic accommodation and boasts its own lovely pool and pool bar, ideal for couples. The resort of Bali is very hilly and therefore not suitable for clients with walking difficulties.

The Despo is an attractive hotel offering comfortable accommodation in a convenient spot: the local sandy beach is just 600 metres where there are facilities for a range of water sports, payable locally. The centre of Gouves, with its selection of cafes, bars and shops is just a couple of miles away and conveniently, there is a bus stop outside the hotel. The hotel has a traditional feel, set among well-kept gardens with plenty of open space for sunbathing. In the inviting dining room, all meals, which are traditional Greek fare, are are included as well as drinks from the bars. In the grounds, the lovely swimming pools are to be found - one for children as well as a playground too. The Despo Hotel offers good value for money and makes a great base for exploring the Northern part of the island.

Our opinion: For a lively holiday in a pretty spot, the Peninsular Hotel makes a perfect choice.

The Peninsula Hotel is situated on a rocky promontory overlooking the deep blue bay of Aghia Pelagia. Built in traditional Aegean style architecture, this beautiful hotel sits amongst lush gardens and is flanked by two unique beaches where a wide range of water sports can be enjoyed, including Scuba diving school which caters for beginners to advanced. The hotel has two swimming pools: a freshwater pool at the top is the spot where activities such as water volleyball take place. Lower down, nearer the sea is a salt water pool with amazing views out over the Aegean, surrounded by a sun deck and recliners, where you'll feel as if you're lying on the prow of an ocean liner on a Greek islands cruise. Games are the aim at the Peninsular, with table tennis, football, pool, boules and tennis always in swing among guests of every age. And if there's something you'd like to do, which isn't happening, just ask - and they will do their best to organise it for you. On days when you'd rather laze, you can hop aboard the Blue Explorer, a small cruiser which will take you around the bay in about 2 hours, by day and by night, with drinks and snacks on deck. Appetites are well catered for at the hotel too, with breakfast, lunch and dinner served buffet style in the Food Court including many local and regional specialities to tempt.
