Our opinion: D'Or Tobago is a perfect choice for a relaxing, enjoyable break.
The Hotel D'Or Tobago sits at the top of the arc of the sweeping bay in Palma Nova, virtually on the sands, where many of the rooms have fabulous views of the beach and the Mediterranean. The hotel's sun terrace accommodates an inviting blue pool at its center, surrounded by sun loungers bearing grateful holidaymakers drifting off in the warmth of the dependable sun. More restless guests will gravitate to the games room for table tennis and other energetic activities. If you get a little peckish, the pool bar has snacks and drinks to keep you going and the hotel's own air-conditioned restaurant serves regional specialities as well as more international dishes.
Although situated close to numerous shops, restaurants and bars, it's just a short distance to the livelier resort of Magaluf - ideal for those wanting a wild time after dark, and sufficiently removed to allow peace to descend when required. A spot of retail therapy is a possibility too, with the many boutiques established here, or why not travel the 20 km to the the island's capital of Palma where you'll find an abundance of charmingly individual stores and masses of Spanish style. If golf is your game, the D'Or Tobago is a good choice with the Poniente and Sta Ponsa II Golf Clubs within 3kms of the hotel. But, however you decide to spend your day, the popular programme of entertainment at the D'Or Tobago includes cabaret and traditional Flamenco to bring it to the perfect end before you retire to your clean and comfy room.
