Takis House, in Kalvasos is the perfect choice to immerse yourself in local living, surrounded by stunning scenery and great walks while still having all the required comforts. From this 300 year-old house, 6 well-appointed, air-conditioned, self-catering apartments have been created, each equipped with modern amenities while retaining the rustic charm of their heritage - a conversion which combines functionality with traditional simplicity. The apartments are ranged around an enchanting courtyard hung with vines and exotic flowers, each with sole use of a balcony or patio for a spot of quiet relaxation with a good book. At a very short stroll is the outdoor Cyprus village pool where guests can cool off and relax in the sunshine, and the popular Governors Beach is 10 kms away. Horse riding and massage are also available locally. The charming historic village square is the place to enjoy a coffee with the locals or have dinner with other residents at the local taverna, perhaps followed by a cooling evening stroll through cobbled streets among authentic Cypriot shops and houses.
Though within striking distance of both Larnaca and Limmasol, here between mountains and coast, you will experience unspoilt life at the heart of rural Cyprus. Take the opportunity to turn your hand to one or two of the local crafts and traditions: learn how to make haloumi cheese, press olive oil, taste the local wine or wander the beautiful citrus groves. For sightseers, the nearby Neolithic site of Tenta is one of Cyprus' most important historic settlements and well worth a visit.
