Holidays in Chorio
Chorio at a glance:- Picturesque
- Historical Interest
- Relaxed
Symi, just 23 miles north of Rhodes Town is one of the most picturesque of all the islands. The focal point of Symi, Yialos Harbour has a good choice of cafes and restaurants and this area has a certain sophistication to it, with hundreds of Italian style mansions built up on the hills around the quayside. Chorio, the upper part of Symi Town, is situated away from the quayside overlooking the harbour, and here the pace of life is even slower and it is impossible not to feel relaxed in this kind of environment.

The Dominican Republic is a haven of soft sands and sunshine with a northern coast that looks out across the Atlantic and southern eastern shores lapped by the Caribbean Sea. This island is baked in glorious sunshine and offers something for everyone, from exploring the colonial architecture to trying one of the many watersports. Prepare to be enchanted by the friendly islanders, beautiful scenery and hypnotic rhythm of the merengue. Our opinion: "Cabarete" Beautiful bay best windsurfing spot White sand beaches
Cabarete is a small, laid-back Caribbean beach village located only 20 minutes away from the Puerto Plata International Airport on the northern shore of the Dominican Republic. It's a perfect tropical vacation spot, especially for the young traveller seeking fun, new friends and sporting adventures. With its charming, hip ambiance and a combination of relaxed and adventurous lifestyles, most visitors can barely resist the spontaneous temptation of extending their stay and just hang around the place for another while.

Holidays in Dubai
Our opinion: "The Excitement of Dubai" Dubai, situated on the southern shores of the Arabian Gulf, is the second largest of the seven territories comprising the United Arab Emirates. It is a destination blessed with year round sunshine, fabulous beaches and stunning hotels. A mix of the old and the new, Dubai is a city of contrasts. State of the art skyscrapers sit alongside traditional Muslim mosques, and souks selling gold, silks and spices trade next to modern shopping malls selling the latest in luxury goods. The city of Dubai is built on the banks of a small creek, with the modern city of Deira on one side and Bur Dubai on the other. The creek is a picturesque natural inlet from the Gulf and is the historical focal point of Dubai. Cross from one side to the other in an "Abra", a small water taxi, to watch the bustle of loading and unloading on the docks. Dubai's reputation as a mecca for shoppers is well justified. Visitors can shop comfortably in the air-conditioned splendour of the state of the art shopping malls selling everything from designer clothing to the latest in electronic equipment at duty free prices, or haggle for bargains with the stallholders in the traditional souks for gold jewellery, silks or spices. As well as being a shopper's paradise, Dubai is also the ideal destination for the sports enthusiast. There are a myriad of watersports available together with horse-riding, camel-racing and "dune-bashing"; the more energetic visitor need never be short of things to do. For the golfing enthusiast there are 3 world class golf courses, each different in character and each providing a range of unique challenges to test even the most accomplished of players. Dubai is justifiably proud of its beautiful beaches that are clean and uncrowded and lead down to the inviting blue waters of the Arabian Gulf. When you've shopped till you've dropped and exhausted yourself with watersports or golf, laze on the stunning beaches in the practically guaranteed sunshine. Or, if the beach isn't big enough, venture into the desert in a 4-wheel drive and explore the amazing desert landscape. With its combination of first class shopping and duty free, excellent sports facilities, fantastic scenery and climate, together with only a 7-hour journey time; Dubai is the ideal destination for a short break. RamadanThis year, the Holy Month of Ramadan will commence on the 15th or 16th of October, (depending on the sighting of the moon) and will last for 30 days. The Holy Month of Ramadan is when Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset. Eating, drinking and smoking in public areas during daylight hours is strictly prohibited. No food or beverages will be served in any open restaurant during daylight. Hotels and ExcursionsAll Arabian Adventures' featured hotels in Dubai make concessions for their clients and keep a restaurant open during the day for resident guests. Alcohol will not be served during this time, however, alcohol is served in restaurants and bars after sunset for non-Muslims (from 19.00 until 02.00). In each hotel, only one bar will be permitted to serve alcohol to guests. Live entertainment, loud music and dancing are prohibited during this period. All the Arabian Adventures' excursions will continue to take place as scheduled. The only exception is the Dune Dinner Safari, which will not have the Belly Dance Show, as this comes under the category of live entertainment. In Abu Dhabi, no alcohol will be served at all. Limited restaurants will be operational in the hotels. IftarSunset marks the start of 'Iftar', which is the breaking of the fast. This begins with a traditional meal of dates, dry fruits and fresh juices, followed by a lavish feast of grilled meats, flavoured rice and other typical Arab fare including sweetmeats. Additional DetailsMost businesses and shops are only open for a few hours in the morning and re-open after sunset until well after midnight, making shopping during Ramadan even more interesting! The months of October and November have some of the best weather conditions of the year, with heights of 32-35 Celsius and lows of 22-25 Celsius. Throughout Ramadan, conservative dress should be worn in public.

Holidays in Gambia
The capital of Gambia, Banjul, is set on St Mary's island surrounded by open sea, the mouth of the River Gambia and Oyster Creek, connected to the mainland by Denton Bridge. With a population of 45,000 it is a small town with little to see, although there are a few bars, restaurants and discos in the area. Most people tend to stay around the hotels during the evening as they all offer a variety of entertainment. Kotu is situated on the coast, south of Banjul and has a great sandy beach, a golf course and small craft market. Further south at Kololi the atmosphere is more lively with a number of bars and restaurants including Lebanese, Chinese, Indian and of course Gambian. In general, resort facilities and lifestyle in the Gambia are simple and may seem basic compared with other destinations. Nevertheless, the relentless sunshine and friendly welcome have ensured its place as a top tropical year round destination. Our opinion: "Flight Information" Flight operates from Gatwick and Manchester Airport to Banjul between November 2006 and April 2007.

Holidays in Gammarth
Gammmarth is a quiet residential location just 20km north of the centre of Tunis. Situated on the East coast, this beautiful beach resort area has invested heavily into building programs, which are turning the whole of this beautiful location into a demi-paradise. This includes smart and vibrant new yacht marinas which are fast turning this suburb into a fully fledged resort of luxury hotels, often described as the best in Tunisia. Our opinion: "Flight Information" From London Gatwick, Machester & Birmingham to Monastir Airport every Sunday between May 2005 and April 2006

Holidays in Athens *NEW*
Our opinion: "A perfect destination for a historical and cultural break, as well as offering some beautiful beaches throughout the region, excellent nightlife and of course plenty of tavernas and restaurants." The Greek capital of Athens is home to some of the most important heritage of the Ancient Greek civilisation. It was named after Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom and was the birthplace of the Olympic Games. As a result of the preparation of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, Athens has inherited an extensive and modern infrastructure. Examples are a new airport, ring roads, underground & overground tram/train networks and generally the city had an extensive clean up and face lift. The Acropolis (with Parthenon as its main attraction) situated in the centre of Athens, is one of the many historical sites that brings visitors to the city. However, Athens is also a modern and vibrant city, and it offers a variety of night life entertainment to its visitors. Who holidays in Athens? With its nightlife, fantastic beaches and places of historical interest, there is something to entice everyone.

According to mythology, Mykonos was formed by the petrified bodies of the giants that Hercules killed. Later the island was named after the hero Mykono who was descended from Apollo. Playa Cofresi at a glance:- Beautiful bay
- Golden sand

Cofresi Beach is located close to Puerto Plata and was named after an infamous Puerto Rican pirate, Captain Roberto Cofresi. Today, Cofresi has changed but only slightly, with high-end hotels and condos offering great views of both Cofresi Beach and the nearby mountains. What a fantastic bay - golden sand blending into crystal clear water. There is only one entrance to the town; a narrow road that runs all the way to the beach. Mountains peak at either side of the city.

The coastal stretch south of Colombo offers palm-lined sandy expanses as far as the eye can see. Culture? Try the Kandyan dances, a procession of elephants or the masked devil dances. Ruins? You'll find enough ancient and inspiring architecture in the cities of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa to satisfy that inner archaeologist, we promise.
And then there's the natural wealth for which Sri Lanka is rightly renowned. Head for the hill country to escape the heat of the plains, where the coast fades away to reveal gorgeous rolling hills often carpeted with tea plantations. The entire island is teeming with bird life and exotics like elephants and leopards are not uncommon. To top it all off, the people are friendly, the food is delicious and costs are low.
