Our opinion:
Traditional style accommodation, friendly owners.
These well maintained Cretan style studios and apartments are renowned for the friendliness of their owners. Situated on the busy main road these apartments are a fifteen minute walk from the small village resort of Anissaras. The pleasant garden area surrounding the pool enables you to enjoy relaxing days, or as an alternative the beach is 1.5 kilometres away. The main resort of Hersonissos is a 3 kilometre drive away.
Studios (1/2 & 1/3 persons) with twin beds, open plan kitchenette, shower and a balcony or terrace with pool view. One bedroom apartments (2/4 persons) with twin bedded room, open plan kitchenette, shower and a balcony or terrace with pool view. Two bedroom apartments (2/4 persons) with twin or double beds, kitchenette, shower and a balcony or terrace with garden view.
Just returned from Petros Village (28/06/11) Excellent friendly staff make you feel like family, real Cretan hospitality ! Nice easy walk to the beach and local shops through an olive grove and easy access to Hersinissos, Malia and Heraklion on cheap local bus that stops outside the gate. Simple but the real Crete !

We just returned from Petros Village last week. Absolutely loved our stay. Apartments were very clean, though basic. Food was really good, and reasonably priced. The family were very friendly and looked after us well. Would definitely return here.

Can anyone tell me if there are shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants near by. Thanks

You get what you pay for with the 2 Star accommodation, clean, basic and tidy, the family who I presume own and run Petros village give you 5 Star treatment though, very hard working, nothing is to much trouble, as an example when our shower drain became blocked, within 5 minutes of reporting the problem it was seen to and repaired,
Sadly the customer service we received from the Olympic Rep team was only 1 Star treatment because on arrival at Petros village at approximately 2.45 in the morning, the Rep from the coach TOLD! Me and wife and another couple to “Wait here!” while he went to find our rooms (no reception at that time in the morning) he returned after about 5 minutes or so and informed us all “IV looked for your rooms but can’t find them, these are the room numbers, the keys should be in doors” and then left! good thing I brought a small touch with me because there was no service lights on at that time in the morning, after 10-15 mins of running up and down stairs checking room numbers we both found them, Id like to apologize to any residents we may have woken up, clambering and running around at that time in the morning,
I was informed the day after from the bar staff we should of been given a map from the Rep!
The second encounter with the Olympic Rep team was at the so called welcome meeting the day after, other than the Rep trying to sell us a Jeep Safari and in my opinion over priced car hire, we came away from what should have been a well informed and enjoyable experience, but we felt as if we had wasted 30 minutes of our life which we can never get back,
The Olympic Rep who held the welcome meeting handed her notice in half way through our holiday, or so we were told from other residents at the BBQ night, were the new Olympic Rep attended, the only encounter with this Rep was on our last day when she came over to us out side the apartment, without any form of introduction, just a “Hi my name is? And IV taken over from so and so, or have you had a nice holiday chit chat” would have been nice, all we got was asked to fill a questionnaire in and leave it behind the bar!
Just to sum the holiday up, other than the poor customer service from the Olympic Rep team,
It’s our first time to Greece and won’t be our last. (Not through Olympic Holidays though)
What a beautiful and fascinating country
Both my Wife and I had a fantastic time at Petros Village,
To the staff who made our stay very welcome, Mike and his wife Nikki the 2 George’s and the Lady who makes most of the meals and gets up very early and cleans the pool area, a big thank you.

We had a fab week at Petros Village 13.09.11 to 20.09.11, lovely place, Maria and her boys were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble. 1st holiday without children and really enjoyed the atmosphere, met some fabulous people and really enjoyed the break. Visited Spinalonga Island and the sunrise in Alunda sipping coffee and eating toast watching the world wake up was amazing. Defo go back... Dick N Don
