Our opinion: Simple accommodation set in a good location with a pleasant pool area.
Situated on the old national highway, approximately 2 kms from Hersonissos this simple, basic accommodation with pool and garden area is in an excellent location from which to explore the neighbouring resorts. The friendliness and service offered by the owners will make you feel at home from your first day. The Veregina is renowned for their excellent meals all of which are cooked using products grown from their own farm.
Due to its location a torch is required at night.

stayed in the verginia aug 2010 had a fab holiday the owners were lovely ,bit far out for those who want to be in the thick of things but bus stopped right outside and taxis were cheap

please can you tell me how long it takes to walk to te nearest bar/resturant/beach, my mother has just returned from staying in a near by town and has heard that these appartments are in the middle of nowhere and next to a builders yard and we were wondering if we should change before going thank

Resort Manager's comment;
''No building work is going on next to the Vergina. It is a bit away from Hersonissos, to walk to the resort will take approx 20 minutes, however there is a local bus stop just few metres away from the property which goes into Hersonissos, approx 2 minutes drive, cost approx 50 Cents each way.''

Hi Sharon I have just returned from the Vergina yesterday. Had a fab week.No noise from the yard at all but be aware of the traffic noise from the road in front. very busy but you dont hear it after a while. Food excellent. Lovely owners. Basic cooking facilities but who wants to cook in the blazing heat. Great pool with sun loungers and toilet and shower just beside it. Bus now costs 1 euro 60 cents each way but try stalis for a lovely beach for the same price.The Vergina is a perfect place for chilling out with options for nightlife not far away.Having said that most guests enjoyed the bar at night after a home cooked meal from Mama.She will cook things to your taste even if its not on the menu.Enjoy.

Just returned from a fantastic weeks holiday here. We were met at the apartments by Nikki and shown to our room.Room basic but has all you need for a S/C holiday,small kitchen facility,shower,etc.
Lovely pool area and bar with nice garden and plenty of sun loungers (no need to get up early to book one). Food in the apartments is excellent and plentiful,Mamma is a wonderful cook using home grown produce. If there is anything you want just let them know and she will cook it for you....nothing is too much trouble. The family are all friendly and very helpful.
We caught the bus from the crossroads about 100m from the apartments into Hersonissos (1.60 euros whereever you are going) where there are shops,bars and a nice beach or you can carry on on the bus to Stallis or Malia. The bus going the opposite way goes to Heraklion.They run about every half hour and run until quite late at night although we were usually back earlyish to get the crack with the rest of the guests and whoever was on in the bar.
Rep was great and knew a lot about the area and came twice a day.
Weather was fantastic but take plenty of aftersun and mossi repellent for the evenings.
We went on a couple of trips while we were there and they were super...Spinalonga BBQ and Knossos.Well worth going to see.
Would recommend the Vergina to anyone who is looking for a quiet,relaxing holiday.

Just got back after a lovely holiday. The hotel is family run and the family couldnt be more helpful. The food was lovely, if I had known would definately gone half board as there is no time limit for breakfast or evening meal and you pick off the menu or specials board and it is cooked fresh. From full english breakfast to traditional greek dishes. All food is fresh from owners farm. Breakfast cost 5 euros which is tea/coffee, fresh orange, full english, bread, etc. Evening meals cost between 4 and 10 euros. The pool area is spotless. The rooms are basic but everything you need and clean. This was one of the best especially as rated 2 star. I will be booking to go back next year.

Just got back from an amazing holiday here!! The hotel is just what we needed, quiet and family run. like a home from home. Andreas and Mamma are the most inviting people i have ever met. My partner was nearly in tears when we had to leave. The pool and bar area are kept clean and tidy at all times and there is always someone on hand to tend to your every need. 1 thing i would sugest is hiring a car or taking advantage of the trips olympic put on. This island has some excelent views and there have to been seen to believe! We are already discussing going back next year for an extended stay. There is no need to eat out as the bar food is cooked to perfection by mamma at all times of the day or night. (The poor woman is never out of the kitchen but she loves it.) Like i said earlier its a home from home!! Definatley would recomend it to anyone.

I have just returned from a 2 week stay at the Vergina Studios! What a great holiday! The hotel is set in Anissaras, this is a quiet area but not too far from the busy towns! Its a great place to stay to get peace, but not too far to go to the busy areas. The bus stop is 100 metres from the hotel, the buses run every 30 mins, but we was never waiting more than 10. It takes approx 5 mins to Hersonissos, 10 mins to Stalis, 15 mins to Malia and 25 mins to Heraklion which is the capital. The buses are cheap and get your around very easily. They run until 12 at night, and after that there is always plenty of taxis around to get you about. The food that mamma cooks at the hotel is brilliant and well priced. There is a weekly bbq on a Sunday and again the food is excellent. There is lots of bars, clubs, restaurants and shops in all the nearby towns.There is trips put on by olympic if you would like to go and explore. If you are looking for more of a relaxing holiday the pool area and gardens are very well maintained and always clean, there is more than enough sunbeds for everyone to relax on. With it being a small hotel there is always a great atmosphere at the hotel between the owners and the other guests. The hotel is very clean and our room was cleaned 3-4 times a week.I was very sad to say goodbye to Andreas, Mamma and his daughters who work at the hotel, and we will along with many other guests be returning in the nearby future.
