Our opinion:
A friendly, family run accommodation set in a quiet location.
The Penelope Apartments are set in attractive gardens and boast some spectacular views. These simple, newly renovated apartments are furnished in a traditional style and provide comfortable accommodation in a quiet location 250 metres off the main resort road. There are a number of facilities within easy reach and a 10 minute taxi ride will bring you to either of the lively resorts of Malia or Hersonissos.
Please note that due to the location of these apartments they are not suitable for those with walking difficulties.
Traditional style one bedroom apartments apartments sleep up to three people and have twin or double beds, air conditioning (payable locally), kitchenette, private bathroom with shower and a private balcony.
We will be going back for the second time on 26th July 2011. The apartments are basic but away from it all with a lovely swimming pool,so peaceful. Penelope will give you cake with your coffee or fruit with your wine !! Such a lovely welcome from her and it is all very clean. Just 15min walk into Elounda where you have a fantastic choice of places to eat,all in all a lovley place to visit

Our third holiday in Elounda but our first at the Penelope. Great location, set among olive groves, the only sounds being that of cockerels, dogs and goats! Pleasant walk down to the main road; a slight detour to the right and then left gets you to the water's edge and then a pleasant stroll takes you to the harbour past a good selection of bars and tavernas. Penelope Apartments are basic but clean and roomy. Most balconies have good views towards the sea. The pool area is very pleasant and also has views of surrounding countryside, coast and mountains. Pool bar provides very basic food and stops serving quite early but was useful on our arrival. Overall this was our best holiday yet in Elounda and this was certainly in part due to the Penelope. Would definitely recommend the apartments for a very reasonably priced holiday in a lovely location. Suggestions of things to do -: Happy Train - afternoon trip into the hills Plaka Spinalonga Walk over the causeway and peninsular to the small beach beyond Walk up to Pano Elounda Agios Nikolos Hire a car and really explore

just booked another holiday at pinelopes this will be our third. pinelopes is a small family run business with i think 16 appartments and hs beautiful veiws of the se and mountains. pinelope is a lovely lady who cannot do enough for you and her mums cakes are to die for what a great family while there we met ally our rep who was based there and also rita our other rep both were great and if you needed anything they were both only to happy to help thanks to pinelope and family rita and ally for making our holiday another great success see you all next june 2012 xx perry and lyn
