The traditional Cretan Semiramis Village Hotel is located in a lovely spot on a hillside overlooking the town of Hersonissos, with spectacular sweeping views out over the bay. The centre of town, with its choice of shops, tavernas and nightlife, is just 1.5 kms away, and the nearest beach only 400 metres. Here, a number of exciting water sports are on offer, suitable for beginners or the more experienced. A pleasurable morning's walk will uncover many more pretty sand and shingles coves around this picturesque coastline.
Back at the hotel, though, there are plenty of things to keep you there, from the wide range of sporting amenities to the relaxing massages, or simply days spent lazing around the resplendent pool. Try a spot of tennis, if you're feeling energetic, or take it down a notch to table-tennis: equally competitive, but not so far to run. You may prefer to test all the equipment in the fitness centre, and tone those quickly tanning limbs. Children have their own pool and playground for burning up excess energy and keeping them occupied while you get down to the serious task of unwinding.
Come meal times, you'll be tempted by the array of tradtional and international specialities laid out in the buffet in the hotel's restaurant. In between times, too, a variety of snacks and sandwiches are available from the pool or snack bar, along with a range of drinks, and cookies are served with afternoon tea. When it's time to retire, the comfy, and well-fitted out rooms beckon, all newly renovated for the season.
