Our opinion: Comfortable, friendly, family run accommodation.
Set back from the main highway which runs through Stalis, the Ilissos Apartments offer well maintained accommodation of a good standard set in pleasant surroundings with a lovely pool area. The beach is approximately a ten minute walk away. The centre of Stalis is 500 metres away where you will find restaurants, tavernas and bars.

Ideally located to take advantage of this lively resort with a beautiful sandy beach only a few minute's walk away, the Koulla Apartments provide comfortable, traditional Cretan accommodation. Grab some cooling refreshment at the snack bar and chill out by the cosy swimming pool before you hit the town at night. The apartments are situated on a busy road leading into Stalis centre with the many bars, shops and restaurants the resort has to offer within close proximity.

Situated in a quiet location on the hillside behind Stalis, the Stalis Bella Vista offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and coastline. Relax by the pool and enjoy the view or take a walk to Stalis Beach which is only 20 minutes away on foot. Amenities located on the outskirts of Stalis are a 15-20 minute walk away. This accommodation is perfect for those seeking good value for money and a lovely beach within easy reach. The stunning views from the pool area are truly unique. For lively nightlife, visit the resort of Malia which is 5-10 minutes away by taxi.

The pleasant Koumaros Studios are set back off the busy beach road in Stalis in a quiet area. The studios are conveniently located a five to ten minute walk from tavernas, restaurants, bars, shops and discos, and five minutes away there is a golden sandy beach. The accommodation offers basic self catering facilities and with friendly owners. The excellent location of the Koumaros Studios is hard to beat and it is ideal for beach lovers seeking relaxing days on a beautiful sandy beach which is just moments away.

Our opinion: Ariadne Beach Hotel is great for families and couples as it has great facilities and is close to the resort centre and the beach.
Overlooking its own sandy beach, the Ariadne Beach is a modern hotel with a traditional atmosphere surrounded by beautiful, well tended gardens. Set in a quiet area between Stalis and Malia, you can find shops, restaurants, bars and supermarkets close by. It is 500 metres from the centre of Stalis and 1.5 kilometres from the lively resort of Malia.

Our opinion: Picturesque and peaceful, yet within easy reach of some of the most energetic resorts on the island.
The Horizons Stelios Stalis Beach Hotel and Bungalows occupy a privileged location where the sweep of the bay draws your eye and the heat is relieved by occasional sea breezes. This peaceful area is only 2 to 3 kms from the party places of Malia and Heronissos, but is a little oasis of calm greenery interspersed with the clarety-pink of the bougainvillea, striking against the glowing white of the low, stone buildings, and pretty ponds.
The hotel building houses a large, air-conditioned lounge where guests can come to relax with a book, or to chat with fellow guests over a cup of coffee or a cocktail when it's too hot outside. Terraces in both the main bar and restaurant offer stunning views over the bay, and the pools, snack bar and playground occupy an elevated spot to take advantage of the panorama, too.
If you relish the saltiness and endlessness of the sea, the wooden diving platform directly into the Aegean will be irresistible - what a way to cool off after taking a hired bicycle on a tour of the area! A variety of watersports are there to be discovered, too, on the beaches in the immediate vicinity.

Our opinion: A great base from which to explore Malia and nearby Hersonissos town.
The Kyknos Beach Hotel & Bungalows is a family-run establishment built with loving care by the owner, Georgios Tsamandouras. It is situated between two lively resorts, Malia and Stalis and is just 200 metres from a pretty sandy beach with the backdrop of the rolling hills.
The attractive two storey, whitewashed bungalows sit adjacent to the main building of the hotel, looking out over the garden towards the big, blue, oblong pool. Cut into it is a little island of pretty vegetation. Alongside, on the terrace and grass are loungers and parasols, and nearby is the pool bar to ensure you are comfortable spending the day doing as little as possible. Children have their own pool, with a slide into the water and a separate, shallow section with a toadstool fountain, for paddling and splashy fun.
More energetic guests might like to knock a ball around one of the two tennis courts, one of which is floodlit to take advantage of the cooler, later hours, or play a round of mini golf. Inside, billiards, table tennis and darts are available. A variety of hot and cold specialities are served buffet-style in the main restaurant which has an al fresco terrace giving beautiful views across to the sea. Cooking demonstrations are often held to fit in with the theme of the evening and twice weekly, the staff put on a show in the pool area which might be folklore, or a magic show, or even a pool party.

The Cactus Beach is situated in a central location close to all amenities with Stalis Beach located just across the road. This elegant complex has been designed in the traditional Cretan architectural style and provides a wide range of facilities and services.

The Sentido Anthoussa Resort and Spa is a beautifully stylish hotel with sand and sea reflected in the colours of the contemporary fixtures, fittings and furnishings throughout. It occupies an advantageous position right on the the edge of a ribbon of soft sand, a private beach itself furnished with row upon row of sandy coloured parasols which shade white sun beds facing the water's edge. Here the waves from a gently shelving sea lap the shore.
A fabulous infinity pool fronts the hotel with an adjacent children's pool so that you can keep on eye on them while you swim into the blue. An indoor pool in the spa has floor to ceiling windows with views to match. This is the spot to banish cares with massages and pampering treatments, and when you've done, time for more relaxation stretched out on the sun terrace your batteries are sufficiently recharged to try out some of the sports and activities on offer. For active guests there is a choice between aqua aerobics, table tennis, boccia, beach volleyball or tennis. There is a fitness room, billiards and water sports on the beach. The sumptuous rooms perpetuate your wellbeing, with generous modern furnishings in calming hues.
Children are well catered for too with a playground a Kids' club with to keep them amused leaving you free for a touch of self-indulgence. With the inviting bars and restaurants each perfect day will come to a perfect close as the tangerine sun slips down behind the sea.
