Kokkini Hani is a small resort, set on the main road with the mountains on one side and the beach on the other. It is not picturesque but has a beautiful sandy beach, a few bars and some nice tavernas. A waterpark is five minutes drive away into the mountains in the picturesque village of Anapolis, where the Greek night is also held. There is a good selection of shops only 15 minutes drive into the capital of Heraklion. A good base for travelling around the island.
