Our opinion: The Despo offers a comfortable base in attractive surroundings ideal for a family holiday.
The Despo is an attractive hotel offering comfortable accommodation in a convenient spot: the local sandy beach is just 600 metres where there are facilities for a range of water sports, payable locally. The centre of Gouves, with its selection of cafes, bars and shops is just a couple of miles away and conveniently, there is a bus stop outside the hotel.
The hotel has a traditional feel, set among well-kept gardens with plenty of open space for sunbathing. In the inviting dining room, all meals, which are traditional Greek fare, are are included as well as drinks from the bars. In the grounds, the lovely swimming pools are to be found - one for children as well as a playground too. The Despo Hotel offers good value for money and makes a great base for exploring the Northern part of the island.
