Our opinion: Staying in the Traditional homes of Crete will be an experience of a lifetime for those seeking to experience a traditional Greek holiday.
The Traditional homes of Crete villas are located in the beautiful village of Vrouhas. The Traditional Homes of Crete can accommodate between 4 & 6 people depending on the which villa is chosen. Upon entering the Traditional homes of Crete, there is a sitting area with a fireplace, dining area and a fully equipped kitchen area. The bathroom is located through a door on the left. On the right is the stone staircase to the upper floor. On the mezzanine floor, there is a single bed and a few more steps lead to the master bedroom. The terrace with breathtaking views is equipped with a summer kitchen and dining area. The nearest beach as well as the village of Elounda is a 15-min walk from the property. The Heraklion airport is about 75 kms from Elounda.
Please note due to the many original design features, and the care taken to retain the original character of the properties during restoration, the Traditional Homes of Crete are not suitable for those with mobility/balance issues or for children. Care should be taken when on roof terraces/balconies/mezzanine floors and and staircases, as some properties have open staircases and elevated floors. Some roof terraces and balconies have low protective walls or railings with large gaps. These features have been kept to allow guests a true experience of the way Cretan people lived over a hundred years ago.
