Got back yesterday after two weeks at the Philoxenia had a wonderful time lovely hotel and fantastic family who own and run it .

I first staedcat the Philoxenia in 1989 when I can honestly say I had the BEST holiday I have ever had! The family are all wonderful, particularly Giorgo, (apologies if I misspelt your name) and the srvice, location & friendliness are fantastic! Can't wait to go back..

This is a first class family run hotel which offers good accommodation, excellent service and a view to die for. We have stayed at the Philoxenia many times and loved every moment.

we have visited this hotel for the last three years but never again. This year we were verbally insulted by other british holiday makers 'so called climbers' young, spending most of their time very loud and never with a rope and said we were only package holiday makers so it didn't matter. I dont think the owners realised that they were also very rude about them to each other . We had a room which we have had before but unfortunatley had this group on either side of us. There should have been two to a room but we could hear many more voices than two each evening. On one evening the owners hosted a birthday party for one of the group at their request the music was that loud we could hear it at the top of the road. Not too bad if we had been informed it was happening we could have made alternative arrangements rather than listen to Thud thud after a long day walking. Many other guests this time also complained of the rude and lack of respect shown by these guests they also said having stayed many times they too would not be venturing back. It is a shame that the owners were not as interested in ensuring their repeat customers were ok because I was so looking forward to a relaxing break and it felt like I was a club 18 -30.

Reply from Hotel Manager ''Good Afternoon This is Nikolas writing from the Philoxenia. Today I was sad to recieve a complaint from the Rep Of Olympic Holidays , Anna. To be honest with you I didnt expect something like this to happen from people who have visited the hotel every year for the past 3 summers. I was also very shocked about your description in the text that you have writen. You are talking about 2 incidents in your 14 day stay in our hotel. The first incident about people beeing loud in the room next door was actually ended the same night when I personally talked to them and then I talked to you and you said that everything was fine. About tha birthday party I am very sure that everything happened within Hours that respected the siesta time of the day and it ended at 21.45pm so other guests wouldnt have any problem resting afterwards. Furthermore I believe that if you wanted to have such an event for your birthday we wouldnt deny it , as we dont deny things like that to guests who have been honnering us with their presence for many years now. All the british climbers that you mentioned have also been coming for years to the Philoxenia more then once a year! Nobody else who stayed in the hotel the same period made any complaints directly to us so I am not very sure whether what you say to me is truth or not!!! I am pretty sure that everybody understud the the situation. What I am not sure about is what was your aim and you wrote this mail , blog whatever it was... You have been proving the quality of our Hotel by coming every year for the past 3 years! Normaly I wouldnt answer to someone who hasnt been here before but I was made in a way to do so after reading what you said!
