Our opinion:
A great place to sample the simple pleasures of Greek living.
Situated in a tiny fishing village on the south east corner of Kefalonia, the Mythos Studios and Apartments offer a good standard of accommodation looked after by their friendly owners. Rooms are simply but comfortably furnished and guests have use of an attractive, large swimming surrounding by a terrace and grassy areas for making the most of the sunshine. Parasols and palm trees provide the shade and the adjacent pool bar offers refreshments to cool down when needed as well as snacks for peckish moments. Local kafenions and tavernas offer inexpensive meals and, in Katelios there are a number of fish tavernas to try. Here you'll also find a small sand/shingle beach leading onto the turtle beach of Mounda, approximately a thirty-five-minute walk away.
Studios (1/2 & 1/3 persons) with double or twin beds, open plan kitchenette (cooking rings), shower, air conditioning (payable locally) and a terrace. Apartments (2/4 persons) with double or twin bedded room, open plan kitchenette, air conditioning (payable locally), shower and a balcony.
Very pretty outside, clean pool area. A few inside apartment issues, nothing drastic but would make a difference, i.e plug sockets near mirror (had none) also plug socket near kitchen area (had none) only one at end of bed. Very sparce utensils.

Good apartments (2010 stay), clean, tidy, lovely pool area and very friendly and helpful staff. Recommended - as is the resort of Katelios, just ensure you can make your own entertainment, although, having said that, the Greek nights and karaoke at the bar are fun too :)

Beautiful pool - but only 22 sunbeds and 10 umbrellas for 25 apartments, ie 50+ guests. We hated having to sneak up to the pool at the crack of dawn to put towels on the beds. We'd been there a couple of days before we realised that this is what all the other guests were doing, so if you can't beat 'em... but it can be remedied easily, by simply GETTING MORE SUNBEDS - there's plenty of shade on the grass under the palm trees, so the lack of umbrellas wasn't the issue. A big problem is the smell of sewage, sometimes near the pool area, but often by our apartments at the rear ground floor and also, on occasion, INSIDE the apartments (5 & 6). Another guest we spoke to was disappointed that the staff simply gave her an air spray to mask the smell, but we feel this is a major problem with the sewage system.
The staff are very nice indeed, so friendly. The bar area is great and the weekly BBQ is lovely.
Oh yes - please please please put a mirror next to a plug point - we had to pull the bed out to plug a hairdryer in and the mirror/dressing table were on the other side of the apartment! Obviously a man designed it!

Our room had twin beds but someone said theirs had a double bed, so depends on room I think

This was our second visit to these apartments. The staff are all English and we found the apartments basic but fine. They do need to get more sunbeds though. We had a system with our friends, each person took turns in getting up!!! So worked out fine with us.............Very near a good shop, but bring your own cereals and coffee.Also if you've kids, bring a bag of pasta as this is easy to heat up at lunchtime if on a budget. We ate at Jerrys, brilliant breakfastsand kids eat for 6 euros with a drink and pudding thrown in, and down the harbour most nights. Katelios Taverna, Dreams is our favourite. On the beach and hidden away. turn left near the harbour and you'll find it. Go early in the evening as it only seats 13 guests.Also for a cheap takeaway - go to Brothers Grill? it doeskebabs with chips for 2 euros!! Lovely to eat on the beach. Buy your mosquito stuff cheaper at the shop opposite the Mythos, rather than in england. All in all a great holiday. We've been to Kefalonia 5 times now!!!
