Mythos Apartments
Our opinion: A great place to sample the simple pleasures of Greek living.Situated in a tiny fishing village on the south east corner of Kefalonia, the Mythos Studios and Apartments offer a good standard of accommodation looked after by their friendly owners. Rooms are simply but comfortably furnished and guests have use of an attractive, large swimming surrounding by a terrace and grassy areas for making the most of the sunshine. Parasols and palm trees provide the shade and the adjacent pool bar offers refreshments to cool down when needed as well as snacks for peckish moments. Local kafenions and tavernas offer inexpensive meals and, in Katelios there are a number of fish tavernas to try. Here you'll also find a small sand/shingle beach leading onto the turtle beach of Mounda, approximately a thirty-five-minute walk away.
Hara Apartments
Our opinion: Traditional accommodation just outside Katelios, ideal for those seeking relaxation.The small, traditionally Greek Hara Apartments are situated just outside the picturesque and quiet fishing village of Katelios. A ten minute walk will lead you to the resort centre with its mini markets, a good selection of tavernas and the resort's two beautiful beaches. The Hara Apartments also have the benefit of a private swimming pool with sun loungers and umbrellas - the ideal place to relax and soak up the sun with some beautiful views of the surrounding green hillsides. These apartments are ideal for couples and families seeking a comfortable base and a relaxing, peaceful holiday. Car hire is recommended to explore the surrounding area and all that Kefalonia has to offer.
Efrosini Village
Our opinion: Situated in a lovely area with well equipped and modern rooms.Set in the quiet resort of Katelios, the Efrosini Village is situated off the main road. The mini market and tavernas are a 10 minute walk away. The beach is also a 10 minute walk and Mounda and Kaminia beaches are a 45 minute walk away. The Efrosini Village is ideal for those wanting a quiet, relaxing holiday.
Magnolia Resort
Our opinion: The Magnolia Resort is a brand new hotel run by experienced hoteliers, quite simply one of the best hotels in Katelios.The Magnolia Resort is a brand new hotel, due to open for the first time in 2011. Set back from the main road in a peaceful location, the resort provides an atmosphere of luxury and comfort with excellent facilities and attentive service. The pool area is not only beautiful but functional too with a stylish pool bar and a kids' pool for hours of family fun. It is only 5 minute walk to many of the tavernas and less than 10 minutes walk to the lovely beach.
Utopia Hotel
Our opinion: The Hotel Utopia is a modern and stylish hotel offering stunning views and excellent amenities.The Utopia Hotel is just a few steps from the sandy beach. It is brand new and offers the best of modern luxury. Built on the coast by the banks of a small river the Utopia with its whitewashed walls and blue shutters offers a touch of classic style. There is a large pool with poolside bar, splash pool and whirlpool spa. The rooms are magnificently designed with comfort in mind with flat screen TV and modern facilities. The hotel is 300 metres from the resort centre with its bars, restaurants and shops and 6 kms to main nightlife in Skala. The transfer time to the airport is 50 minutes.
Pacifae Golden Village Hotel
Our opinion: The family-run Pacifae Golden Village makes everyone feel welcome with its friendly atmosphere and exemplary hospitality - and the views are not to be missed.The Pacifae Golden Village rests in lush gardens only 800 metres from the beach in Katelios, a small fishing village between the busy resorts of Skala and Lourdas on Kefalonia's south east coast. Completely renovated during the winter of 2010, this lovely hotel offers comfy rooms with stunning views of the sea and the sunset, and modern amenities and facilities. These include a beautiful large, irregularly-shaped pool and children's pool with sun bathing terrace and changing cabins. The poolside cocktail bar keeps the cool drinks coming, and the restaurant serves home-made recipes and fresh fish dishes. Quiz nights take place regularly. A good range of shops and restaurants are to be found nearby as well as some marvellous beaches and delightful villages around the coast.
