The charming Denise apartments have all the ingredients for a perfect holiday: a welcome as warm as the sunshine that greets you on this pretty Greek island, a sparkling blue pool with sunbeds just a few steps away from your clean and comfortable room, the sea a few steps more, and lively nightlife, shops and tavernas within easy striking distance. What else do you need? New guests arriving at the Denise are made to feel as welcome as the many who return year after year to the pretty apartments sitting among lovely gardens where greenery and flowers abound. Owners Nico and Maria make it their business to ensure everyone has a fantastic time. Unsurprisingly, the swimming pool and bar are the focal point, the perfect place to stretch out, relax and read a book, or chat to fellow guests. A leisurely five-minute stroll will bring you to the nearest sand and shingle beach and warm sea, and an array of idyllic, traditional tavernas where the authentic Greek fare is hard to beat. An enjoyable half-hour's walk - or a short bus ride - and you will be in Kos Town which bustles with shops and restaurants. Take a stroll around the pretty port where a 14th-century Knights' castle tops a list of historic relics that includes Venetian buildings, Roman baths and the Plane Tree of Hippocrates. Choose one of the many pavement cafes to sit with a coffee and people-watch, or stroll among the many side streets crammed with shoe and jewellery shops. There's a good choice of beaches around the area too, with sand and shingle stretches to the south, and lovely Lambi beach just north of the harbour. In the evening, you have the choice of an energetic time in one of the lively bars and nightclubs in Kos Town, or the more intimate entertainment back at the Denise Apartments where guests mingle around the bar until the small hours.

Set in a quiet location on a hill in Psalidi is the friendly, family run Aristo Apartments, where beautiful sea views await you. It is made up of 4 blocks of apartments set around a swimming pool. Each studio and apartment consist of a kitchenette with 2 ring hobs and a fridge, bathroom with shower, sun loungers around the swimming pool and a pool bar. The main reception also has a TV lounge. The shingle beach is a 20 minute stroll away, ideal for families and couples. A supermarket is also within close proximity to the accommodation.

The charming Continental Palace Hotel has a spacious reception and lounges surrounded by large verandas and beautiful, extensive gardens. Elegantly furnished rooms offer comfortable accommodation, with air-conditioning and roomy balconies with views of the Aegean. In the gardens is the swimming pool and the children's pool is directly adjacent. There is also a snack bar offering refreshments during the day. The hotel has facilities for tennis, mini-golf, table tennis and billiards as well as a children's playground. At mealtimes, the buffet restaurant offers a good variety of dishes and a selection of cocktails can also be enjoyed in the relaxing atmosphere of the bar.

Situated three kilometres east of Kos Town, this modern and comfortably equipped hotel is located in the quiet and peaceful Psalidi area. Guests will enjoy the recently renovated rooms and the lovely scenery in the region of Psalidi, as well as sunbathing around the nice outdoor swimming pool. There is also a separate children's pool, a sun terrace and a pool snack bar. Directly in front of the hotel there is a bicycle road to all directions and the public bus station with a regular daily schedule to Kos town. The beach is approximately 200 metres away and is separated from the hotel by the coast road alone.

Our opinion: The location of this family friendly hotel offers guests quiet and relaxing holidays.

The Archipelago hotel is located on the hills of the wonderful Psalidi coast, 100 metres from the beach and 7 kms south of the town of Kos. This complex is an excellent choice for those who want relaxing holidays, ideally for families. All rooms have air-condition, bathroom, telephone, radio, balcony and some of them sea view. The hotel facilities include a swimming pool for adults and one for children, water polo and water basket facilities, a tennis court, a mini golf course, beautiful gardens and a special playground for children. Transport to the town is very easy by bus and the bus stop is 100 metres from the hotels entrance. The airport of Kos is 45 kms away.

The Mitsis Family Village Hotel at the foot of Mount Dikeos affords spectacular views over the Aegean with the volcanic island of Nisyros beyond. A terrific resort with modern, spacious rooms, guests have tennis, darts, and a children's playground at their disposal. A mini-market and souvenir shop are there for browsing, or book in for a soothing massage. Two glistening, turquoise pools with attendant sun terraces complete the picture. Elegantly furnished rooms provide comfortable accommodation, each with private bathroom and hairdryer. Views from balconies take in the mountains or sea. The buffet restaurant provides a choice of cuisine and snacks and refreshing drinks are available at the pool and beach bars. The lively village of Kardamena is 5 kms away, with a host of beaches, fishing villages, shops, bars, and restaurants to be discovered. Due to its location, this property may not be suitable for clients with walking difficulties.
