Our opinion:
The Petinos apartments offer a good standard of basic self catering facilities combined with friendly staff in a great location.
The Petinos Apartments are just a 5 minute walk uphill from the Petinos Hotel which itself is just 2 minutes walk from from the main beach, mini market, restaurants and bars that are in the resort of Plati Yialos. Guests staying at the Petinos Apartments have full use of the faclities at the lovely Petinos Hotel, which is just a five minute walk away. Plati Yialos is a family orientated resort that lies on the sheltered south coast where the best golden sandy beaches of the island are to be found. There are plenty of seafood tavernas offering open-air terraces overlooking the sea and a lovely selection of shops to explore. Plati Yialos is one of the most cosmopolitan resorts of Mykonos, with one of the best beaches on the island. There are frequent boat trips available from Plati Yialos to some of the islandʼs most famous beaches, including Paradise beach, Super Paradise, Agrari and Elia beach. The vibrant Mykonos Town is 4 kilometres away. These apartments are perfect for those seeking comfortable accommodation and Cycladic charm.
Guests staying at the Apartments can use the facilities of the Petinos Hotel, including the Blue Myth restaurant.

Cuisine
The Blue Myth restaurant (at the Petinos Hotel) is the ideal place to taste local specialties in traditional surroundings. It is ideally situated by the sea, right on the beach of Plati Yialos. Surrounded by large windows, it allows you to enjoy a perfect view of the sea, and to breathe in the fresh sea breeze. Open from the early morning hours, it offers a rich breakfast buffet giving you all the energy you will need to venture around the island. In the evening you may enjoy your dinner on the open air veranda, with a fascinating view of the sea, in front and around you. The chef will help you decide among the many choices of Greek and other Mediterranean dishes. Compliment your meal with one of the fine bottled wines, or try red or white wine from the barrel. On Wednesdays and Sundays there are special nights with Greek dancing, singing and eating of course!
Stayed here 20 May to 3June 2011 and had great room. Was also here in 2010 and room I had then was functional but very basic. Platis Yialos has a great beach and is only a 15 min walk along the cliff top to Paraga beach or 10 min the other way to Psarou. Bus to town can get very busy. Great apartments and great location.

Just returned from a very pleasant holiday at the Petinos Apt. Our aparment was very spacious with a very modern marble bathroom and shover. The self catering equipment was a bit basic, but with free air conditioning and safe we can not complain. The apartment was spotlessy cleaned and new towels supplied every day. We have not used the available pool nearby as the beaches were just great!!

Hi, we are going to these apartments in less than two weeks. can you pls advise if there is a kettle, coffee perculator, tea towels, w/up liquid etc? what do we need to bring from home? thanks Susanne
Olympic Holidays at 07:08 pm, 24 August 2011
Hi Susanne, we were there last year and yes there was a kettle but no coffee perculator, no w/up liquid or tea towels. There are plates, cups, glasses, cutlery and a couple of saucepans. Catering equipment is very basic but we found it just sufficient for what we needed. Everyone is very helpful, so I'm sure they will do their best to accommodate anything you might need. We're going again this year on 12th Aug for 2 weeks - maybe see you there! Have a great time it is a really beautiful island! Gillian

HI Gillian, thank you for your message. You are right that it looks basic what then again, how much do you need there? You are away from the apartment most of the time anyway. We have been to other Greek islands but not this one, so we are looking forward to it. BTW we will be going back to UK on the 12th so wont see you but maybe another time!

Here is a photo of the "kitchen corner" in the room we had last year. The cupboard under the sink (r h side) has all the crockery, cutlery and saucepans in it and the cupboard on the l h side is the fridge. There are 2 cooking rings on top. Not a great pic but you can get a rough idea. Gillian

Hi there is a kettle but the rest is very basic. No perculator, microwave tea towels washing up liquid so you will need to bring these. There is one large sauce pan small frying pan, cutlery and plates and cups and glasses. no cooking utensils or tin or bottle opener. we asked several times and they said they will supply but nothing showed up note though they were excellent in every other service and were very friendly.everything else was great. we loved our stay there. ask for room 10 its at the back. have fun.
