Tagoo Holidays - Destination Profile
Tagoo is a beautiful area to the north of Mykonos Town which can be reached in 10 -15 minutes on foot, or a short hop on one of the regular buses which run to and from the capital.
Ideally placed as it is, you can take advantage of the hustle and bustle of the chic bars, restaurants and sophisticated shops of Mykonos town, returning when it suits you to the more tranquil environment and stunning views afforded by the breathtaking, cliff-top position of Tagoo.
The picture-postcard buildings follow the typical Cycladic architecture of neat, small dwellings with pristine whitewashed walls radiant in the summer heat. Against them the vibrant, sky blue shutters and window frames stand out, echoing the stark contrast of bright sunshine and deep shadow. The subtle mauve hues of bougainvillea soften the scene.
Situated on the striking stretch of Mykonos's `gold coast' Tagoo is establishing itself as a desirable destination with a character of its own. On rising land overlooking and the amethyst blue of the Aegean lapping the shores of Mykonos Town, it provides a magnificent panoramic seascape sweeping across the outlines of the nearby islands of Syros and Tinos, as well as Delos island. Though less well-known, Delos is one of the most significant archaeological sites in Greece and worth a visit for anyone interested in Greece's history.
During the day, relax with a book and enjoy the view, visit one of the numerous excellent beaches nearby, or wander the streets of Mykonos Town, exploring the bright white, little alleyways, discovering hidden jewellery and craft boutiques.
As the brightness of the day fades, be sure to stop for a moment to absorb the dramatic beauty of the setting sun, before heading back into Town for the non-stop clubbing and partying that typify this most cosmopolitan of Greek islands.

Nursed back to health, he remained on the island cared for by locals. No longer the original bird, however; Petros I was sadly killed by a car in 1985.
