Places of Interest

• Wetlands - A conservation site boasting plenty of special rare of bird pelicans, water buffalos etc.
  
  
• Necromandio - The entrance to Hades where the ancient Greeks went to speak to the dead.
  
  
• Acheron River- Beautiful water that is sourced from the mountains. The spectacular scenery is perfect walking territory and is now protected by the local authorities.
  
  
• Zalogo - Statue of the woman of Souli who sacrificed themselves by jumping off the mountain to escape capture by the troops of Ali Pasha.
  
  
• Nikopolis - (large archaeological site) - founded by Octavian in commemoration of his victory at the battle of Aktion.

Beaches

• The town beach - A narrow shingle beach in front of the main harbour with all its amenities.
  
  
• Valtos beach - A large sandy beach with bars restaurants, sun beds and a variety of water sports including ringos, bananas, water skiing paragliding and pedaloes.
  
  
• Lichnos beach - A large shingle beach with sun beds, volleyball, bars, cafes and a supermarket.
  
  All the above beaches can all be reached by road, water taxi or by foot.
