Paros Holidays - Destination Profile

  • Historical
  • Busy harbour
  • White wash houses

The lively capital of Paros, Parikia, is filled with narrow, winding streets which were originally intended to confuse any invaders, giving the locals time to escape! The town now boasts an atmospheric and intriguing mix of the old and new, with its white-washed buildings and an excellent selection of restaurants, bars and shops. The nightlife in Parikia is quite lively, so if you're looking for entertainment you won't have to venture far. Our accommodations are all located near to or within Parikia, so you will be in an ideal location for exploring the town. As well as Parikia, the coastline of Paros offers some truly beautiful beaches, so why not explore the island by car. The sleepy village of Naoussa is well worth a visit - it is around a 15 minute car or bus journey from Parikia and it offers a small fishing harbour and a selcetion of fresh fish tavernas, making it a must-see for those seeking a taste of traditional Cycladic village life.

Paros island is one of the best kept secret of the Cyclades and has everything you need for a family, beach or active holiday. The main port of Parikia is charming and business like, and has streets built to confuse pirates, sandy beaches to laze on and a beautifull Cathedral which is a must see. The island of Antiparos is easy to get to on the regular ferry from the mainland or by the boats at the main port.
To the east, and facing the island of Naxos, is the picturesque port of Piso Livadi; where to the north of the island is the idyllic harbour town of Naoussa which has it all. There you will explore chic shopping, beach side and harbour restaurants and the very interesting rock formations at the sandy beach of Kolibthres which can be reached by a short boat ride from the quay side. For the more independent traveller the bus service to and from the main port to Naoussa runs every half / hour and takes twenty minutes. From Parikia's bus station you can continue you adventures around Paros island.
