Our opinion: 'Get away from it all' ambience pervades the Rodos Star Hotel.

The Rodos Star Hotel is set on a steep hill in a very quiet and relaxing location, one side overlooking the village of Afandou and the other, the eastern coastline. It is close enough to explore the traditional village of Afandou with its many bars, restaurants and tavernas. The lovely pebble beach of Afandou is just a 15 minute walk away and Afandou golf course is one kilometre away. It is a friendly, family run hotel, ideal if you want to relax and be away from it all in a nice, traditional surroundings.

The Poolside Snack Bar is a pleasant and relaxing spot near the pool serving refreshing cocktails, drinks and light snacks
Orfeas Cocktail Bar is a smart place where guests can enjoy a cocktail and meet some new friends in a romantic atmosphere. Choose a spot inside, or sit outside on the comfortable veranda. There is music, dances and a big screen satellite TV.

All Inclusive

Meals: Breakfast buffet from 07:00-09:30, lunch buffet from 12:30-14:30 and dinner buffet from 19:30-21:30. Lunch baskets available. Drinks: During meals wine, soft drinks, juices, water and beer are served. All inclusive drinks are served between the hours of 10.00-23.00. Unlimited alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are served from 17:00-23:00 at the main restaurant and from 10:00-17:00 at the snack bar (local drinks only included). Coffee, tea and cookies from 15:30-17:00. Entertainment & Activities: Once a week is Greek night with BBQ, Greek live music and folklore ballet. For Children: Ice cream for children up to the age of 12 is served from 11:30-12:30 and from 14:30-17:00. There is a separate children's pool.

I have just returned from Rodos Star with 2 female friends. We had a lovely relaxing time. The owners of the hotel were very welcoming. The food was always of a high standard and very tasty. We would definately stay there again.

I would like to thank the owners personally for a great holiday and great time we had at this hotel. The food was good, the service was excellent and the location was brilliant. Although this hotel is up a pretty steep hill the views where wonderful. One side we have the sea view and the other you overlook the picturesque village of Afandu (lit up of a night is brilliant). The beach and sea is a 2km walk but well worth the visit. The bus service is very good and cheap to get out and about. We visited Rhodes one way for 2.40 Euros and went on a 2hr mini cruise, where we were taken to a small cove and snorkeled excellent for 15 Euros. I would recommend this hotel to those who appreciate the views, the food and excellent service we had...but those who have stated the hill was off putting, once at the top you have to admire and understand why it is there!!!! . thank you once again for a wonderful holiday xx

as soon as you arrive after a tiring journey,you are immeadiately at ease with the friendly check in and lovely reception.we felt as though we were family by the time we left! this hotel tries to cater for all tastes at the pool lunch and the evening restaurant.the greek night is really entertaining,with all the family joining in too! we arent really ones for "organized" greek nights but that one was different! the basic accommodation was always spotlessly cleaned by two very good entertaining ladies.and hey they arent spring chickens,but do that hill twice a day without complaint so dont worry!if you want a friendly,family run hotel with good guests,go for it.if your picky,and like to pick fault,look elsewhere at a higher star rating and of course price.
something must be right as we see lots of repeat customers! ( we went twice last year ) book with confidence,but leave a room for me!

The staff are excellent (very friendly). Food is good, if not a great choice, but always hot and something to eat.
Drinks are usual all inclusive (watered down) and Julian needs to give bigger measures.
It is very basic accomodation & certainly not 3 star, more likely 2.
Rooms are not that clean & our bathroom was only cleaned once in 2 weeks.
Linen & towels were changed regularly.
THAT HILL is ok at night, but forget it in the day.
All in though, you get what you pay for, & we had a decent holiday.
