Our opinion: Great for families and couples seeking good value for money with some pleasant restaurants and the beach close at hand; a good base from which to explore other nearby resorts, including beautiful Rhodes Town.
The Anixis Apartments are located on the outskirts of the resort of Ixia and exude a warm, family-friendly atmosphere and offer good entertainment, including lively karaoke and theme nights. All apartments have a furnished balcony or terrace and are kept spotlessly clean by friendly, helpful staff. The pleasant pool area in the well-tended gardens is the ideal place to relax and soak up the sun with a handy snack bar nearby from where you can watch the children paddle in the shallow section or enjoy the play area. With video games and a pool table, there is plenty to keep slightly older children occupied too.
A couple of restaurants and tavernas can be found within a 5 minute walk and the long sandy/shingle beach is around 10 minutes away offering an excellent selection of watersports payable locally. By night, Ixia takes on a cosmopolitan feel as holidaymakers throng the bars and restaurants in town and a little further away is beautiful, medieval Rhodes Town with its pretty harbour and quaint cobbled streets - worth taking a short taxi ride to get there for exploring the shops and cafes.
