Our opinion: Zannos is a great place to stay to take in the ambiance of an old style manor house. it gives excellent service and has outstanding views.
Located in the centre of the island, Pyrgos is the highest village with panoramic views. A 19th century mansion built by Michael Zannos, a master of the time, and an adjoined renaissance architecture villa built in 1750, both landmarks, have been renovated and converted into the luxurious Zannos Melathron hotel. Access around the resort of Pyrgos is mainly by foot or by donkey. Situated on the highest level of the most picturesque settlement of Pyrgos and right at the entrance of its medieval castle, The Zannos Melathron enjoys a breathtaking view of the entire island and the Caldera.
Please note: Zannos Melathron is not suitable for disabled guest or those with walking difficulties due to its location, number of steps and lack of facilities close at hand.
