Our opinion:
These Studio apartments offer a relaxing setting with a laid-back atmosphere - perfect for a peaceful getaway.
The light and airy Filokalia apartments are on a steep incline approximately 300 metres from the centre of Achladies. Access is via a gently sloping track 5-minute's walk from the main road - worth the climb, though, to arrive at the pretty white buildings of the Filokalia, perfectly placed amid attractive gardens with stunning views; an ideal spot to restore a sense of well-being. In the grounds is a pretty pool with children's pool too, and a sunbathing terrace with inviting loungers. A snack bar is on hand for refreshments without having to wander far. Nonetheless, within a five-minute walk is a handful of tavernas, restaurants, bars and shops and the lovely sandy bay of Achladies. Local nightlife is low-key, consisting mainly of food, drink and friendly faces.

Stayed at Filokalia Studios 1st to 8th July..... All exactly as described on the Olympic Holidays web-site - really close to the shops a wonderful cake shop and the beach...... We had a fabulous holiday and would firmly recommend it.

Best Self Catering unit on the island been to Skiathos 5 times and this is by far the best and great value for money.Staff are fantastic rooms immaculate.Will be returning.Highly recommended.

Stayed here and it was lovely and quiet, the rooms were spotless. Shellina and Marie who run the bar are brilliant! Order food from Shellina and you will never walk away hungry or disappointed. The complex is in a lovely location just a few minutes walk from the main road. I would visit again. Should really be a 3 star!

We stayed at the Filokalia for the second year running back in May this year. Just as good as our first visit, Shelina is an absolute star and makes a great breakfast. The complex is spotless and is in a great location just 5 mins from the beach, the shops, bus stop and water taxi. Hope to return next year!!

This was our first viisit to Filokia and we were very impressed. The accomodation is ideally located, only 5 mins from the beach and close to bus and water taxi facilities. Many people who were staying there were returning visitors and it is easy to see why. Shellina and the staff make everyone very welcome and are always willing to offer advice and information about places to eat and/or visit. I can highly recommend the Olive Land restaurant which we visited and which has stunning views of the island. Also, be sure to book a boat trip- go to the quayside at Skiathos and pick up a ticket or just turn up on the day. Although we are not usually in the habit of returning to the same location we would consider a return to Filokia, if only to do the things we didn't have time for before.

lovely apt and staff, but unless you like to sunbath and drink there is nothing to do on the island.

Accomodation spotless, second visit here and staff just as helpful as always. Filokalia is idealy situated for the water taxi into town and close to a bus stop. If you don't want to go to Skiathos town there is a bakery and 3 supermarkets, also a few local tavernas to choose from. When we next visit Achladies we will most definately rebook to stay at this accomodation!!

I've never, EVER, stayed at a place where we've been made more welcome or felt more at ease and relaxed from the off. Love it some much we've been back twice (or is it three times). Looking forward to the next opportunity.

Just had a wonderful week in Filokalia. We have stayed on many Greek Islands, but these are definitely the best apartments we have ever stayed in. Filokalia was recommended by a friend and we were not disappointed. The accommodation is excellent; clean, well maintained, lovely grounds, excellent hosts and lovely food. We were made most welcome by Shellina, Katia & Alkis and nothing was too much trouble for them. The apartments are well located, with the beach, water taxi, buses, tavernas and supermarkets close by. All in all a lovely, relaxing holiday - we will definitely be back

Just returned from Filokalia!! Perfect!!!
A great setting, gardens beautiful, staff even more so! The whole place is clean and really well maintained. The owners even turn up for the dancing at the BBQ evening. Short walk to road for bus and little more to beach and water taxi. Not a steep walk at all!!! Don't need a torch as some suggested it is quite well lit at night. Taxis/cars can drive up. Take beachwear in your hand luggage as the smaller bus brings your luggage and it may take a short while.
Shellina will give you great advice and help and will even make you a sandwich for the journey home if you want! Katia is a lovely girl, works the bar in the evening! A star!

So many really great restaurants
Recommend going to Kanapitsa beach and hire a small motorboat for the day. Easy to use and they will advise where to go.
Don't go for the Olympic catamaran trip Staff great but catamaran is tatty and not too clean. Not enough shade on deck and quite awkward with loads of ropes etc. Definitely not for young children Go to the harbour and check out other boats before you book one. You will get a cheaper deal. We did meet some lovely people on it!!( B&B!! )
Just so you now that the hand luggage allowance on Strategic is 5KG. Couldn't find it anywhere on internet!

I've been to Skiathos 6 times now and absolutely love the island. Stayed at Filokalia studios in early June with relatives, it was recommended by someone who returns year after year.... best recommendation ever. I can honestly say It was the best and most relaxed holiday we could wish for. Shellena is the perfect hostess and oh boy does she cook the best lasagne ever, she remembers everyone by name and from day one makes everyone feel so welcome. Katia, well what can I say, lovely Katia works the bar in the evening and is just an absolute joy, it was like coming home each evening to her smiling face and, it has to be said they both work extremely hard. BBQ night Alkis and his brother who own the complex came down and everyone had a fab night. Great studios and wonderful people. We didn't do too well in the quiz, but the evening was great fun.
