Yalis Apartments
Our opinion: Family-run hotel with a great atmosphere, near to a gorgeous sandy beach.With a lovely, spacious pool area, the family-run Yalis Apartments are set in their own beautiful gardens, making it the ideal choice for those seeking comfort, good self catering facilities and picturesque surroundings. The accommodation is well maintained and the area is full of lush greenery and pretty views. The apartments are situated on a main road with the nearest beach only two minutes away. Achladies is a peaceful, picturesque resort with a small bay. For those who wish to explore the surrounding area, you can take a water taxi from the beach to Skiathos Town where you will find cosmpolitan charm and an array of shops and restaurants to explore.
Filokalia Studios
Our opinion: These Studio apartments offer a relaxing setting with a laid-back atmosphere - perfect for a peaceful getaway.The light and airy Filokalia apartments are on a steep incline approximately 300 metres from the centre of Achladies. Access is via a gently sloping track 5-minute's walk from the main road - worth the climb, though, to arrive at the pretty white buildings of the Filokalia, perfectly placed amid attractive gardens with stunning views; an ideal spot to restore a sense of well-being. In the grounds is a pretty pool with children's pool too, and a sunbathing terrace with inviting loungers. A snack bar is on hand for refreshments without having to wander far. Nonetheless, within a five-minute walk is a handful of tavernas, restaurants, bars and shops and the lovely sandy bay of Achladies. Local nightlife is low-key, consisting mainly of food, drink and friendly faces. Do take a torch, though, to help you find your way back to bed.
Vontzos Hotel
Our opinion: A delightfully affordable hotel nestling among lush trees and scented flowers, ideal for guests who enjoy the more serene side of life.The Vontzos Hotel is perched on a hillside with lovely views down to the charming Achladies beach just just 50 metres away. All the rooms have balconies many of which share the view, or overlook the attractive gardens. Each is equipped with a TV and a mini-bar and fridge for keeping things cool, and furnished for comfort and simplicity. The airy reception is open round the clock to accommodate late nights out in town and guests can keep in contact with the rest of the world if they want to with the satellite TV in the lobby. Breakfast in the Rose Garden Restaurant is included in the room rate, and traditional specialities are available throughout the day at a charge. The plentiful restaurants and bars in Skiathos Town and around the island are easily reachable on the island's regular bus service with a stop just 100 metres from the hotel.
Esperides Hotel
Our opinion: A popular newly renovated hotel offering a good standard of accommodation in a great location with a beach on the doorstep.Nestled amongst olive groves and pine trees the Esperides Beach Hotel is conveniently located next to golden Achladies beach where it operates a modern beach bar offering drinks snacks and lunches throughout the day. This excellent Hotel offers a high standard of accommodation in pleasant surroundings. In the main building, guests can make use of the bar, an al fresco restaurant, enjoy TV or relax with a book or a gentle game of cards. Sun beds and umbrellas are available on the beach as well as a range of watersports for those seeking an active holiday. Alternatively, you can relax by the pretty pool area and enjoy stunning views out to sea. There are a few bars and restaurants only a five minute walk away too, for a bit too eat or a night out.
