Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice |

A donation of £34,300 will go to this UK charity. Noah’s Ark is a hospice in the community and provides practical support to life-limited children and their families within the communities of North London and South Hertfordshire (where our UK support office is located). They rely on public donations to carry on their vital work as they receive no government support. Our donation will enable the charity to provide an additional Children and Youth Respite Worker for 1 year to reach, work and support many more families within the area. |

Kerrie Marlborough, the Children and Youth Respite Worker being sponsored by Olympic Holidays Childcare Fund at Noah’s Ark has now been in her position for three months. Unfortunately, due to the very nature of the reason why Noah’s Ark was established, not all of Kerrie’s work is fun. Sometimes, sadly, the children lose their fight for life, but it’s thanks to your contributions that Kerrie is able to be there to support the family who are left behind. Here is a summary in Kerrie's own words of the work that she has undertaken over the past three months. | ||

| “My first three months in post have been a time of excitement and planning. I have been betting the foundations for trusting relationships to develop with new children and families that come into my care, gradually nurturing them and affording the parents, child and their siblings some independence and quality time they may not otherwise get. I am continuing to help and support children I have previously worked with giving them new experiences and helping them reach milestones that if I was not in post, they may not have had the opportunity to achieve. |

| I have been able to support and comfort a dying child and his mum, being there for both of them at a time of great need. Without Olympic funding I would not have been able to do this and am really looking forward to developing this role, reaching out to other families and continuing to make a difference.” Kerrie Marlborough, Noah's Ark Children and Youth Respite Worker, February 2010. |
