Our opinion: A great find for a good value holiday in a fabulous spot.
The Stella Maris apartments are housed in an unassuming white block hiding a gem of a holiday find. The apartments are surrounded by majestic mountains and the lovely little white Andalusian cottages the area is famous for. What's more, the stunning sandy beach is just across the road a few metres away. Here, plenty of cheerful, floral covered sunbeds await you, each pair separated by a little mushroom of a grass covered parasol bringing some welcome shade.
The self-catering apartments are roomy and clean with plenty of storage space. Furnished in warmly neutral shades they have a light and airy feel helped along by a spacious balcony, many offering stunning views of the coastline. From your bed, listen to the calming sounds of the sea at night, and watch the sunrise in the morning. The apartments have a pretty pool of their own with loungers and umbrellas, and a pool bar on had to provide the necessary cool drinks and snacks while you relax. When you're ready to brush up, a gym with sauna and Jacuzzi will get you off to a good start.
The centre of Fuengirola is filled with scores of shops and other attractions, easily accessible by the public transport which leaves from directly outside the apartments, and behind the hotel is a large supermarket which makes getting supplies in a piece of cake. Relax in front of the satellite TV in your apartment with a home-made paella and glass or two of Rioja, or head into town to sample the lively nightlife, catching a cocktail in the bar on your return.
