Our opinion: A winning location for a lively holiday in the ritzy resort of Marbella.
The apartments at the El Faro Inn are a wise choice if a central location and great value are at the top of your checklist. The El Faro is in an excellent location, close to Marbella's old town and just 150 metres from the stunning sandy beach stretching all the way along the coast as far as the eye can see. In the El Faro's grounds a fresh-water swimming pool and sun terrace furnished with sun loungers make a day poolside an option, sunshine guaranteed. Following a continental breakfast, the cafe will keep you topped up throughout the lovely long hours of sunbathing and, if you feel like stretching your legs, a choice of tapas bars are within a few minutes walk. The sizeable, air-conditioned apartments are traditionally furnished and comfortable with a fully-fitted kitchen, separate bathroom, terrace and free WiFi.
Meanwhile, on your doorstep, the vibrant, up-market resort of Marbella flaunts its many attractions. Rub shoulders with the rich and famous in its swanky shops and boutiques or wandering the narrow cobbled streets of the old town which hides pretty, little squares and white-washed buildings. The Plaza de los Naranjos, just 500 metres away, is an enchanting spot to sit and watch the world go by. Dine at one of over 600 restaurants and, if you've the stamina, wind up at one of Spain's hottest nightspots at Puerto Banus, where the music reverberates on through the balmy Spanish night.
