In Mykonos you’ll find some of the best clubs in the world, with top resident and superstar guest DJs. The most famous clubs are situated along Paradise Beach, Super Paradise Beach and Psarou, with wild raves and day and night-long parties.

Corfu: Head to Kavos, with its long strip lined with over 80 clubs and bars. Atlantis Club is a fabulous, open –air club situated right on the beach and known as the best sunrise partying spot in Kavos.

Ios: Chora, the island’s main town, is quiet and laid-back during the day but famous for its crazy nightlife: try Aftershock, Slammer Bar, Blue Note Disco 69 or Flames Nightclub. Fabulous Mylopotas Beach is the island’s non-stop, sand-between-your-toes beach party venue.

Paros: A serious party magnet especially for young, in-the-know Greeks. Top destinations include Pounda Beach, or any of the myriad cool lounge bars and nightclubs on the promenades at Naoussa and Parikia.

Zante: The clubbing mecca of the island is Laganas, boasting over 100 bars. Expect school-style discos, foam festivities, silent raves and a Full Moon Party on Friday at the Cherry Bay Beach Club.

Rhodes: Outrageous Faliraki is world-famous, and so is the Sting Club – for music, dancing and up-all-night fun. Or brave the karaoke at Kelly’s Irish Bar!

Alternatively, try Lindos for further beach party madness, search out the cooler, fashionable clubs in Ixia, or head for Orfanidi Street in Rhodes’ Old Town, so dedicated to nightlife that it’s been nicknamed Bar Street.

Cyprus: Ayia Napa. Clubbing here is focussed round fabulous Nissi Beach. There are 12 main clubs playing every sort of music from dance and R&B to disco and house beats. Some of the most popular clubs include Aqua, Carwash Disco, Castle, Starsky’s, River Reggae and the Makronissos Beach Club.

Cricket in Corfu

Cricket was introduced to Corfu during Britain’s period of administration in the 19th century. Visiting sailors first played the local fishermen, bakers and labourers on the Napoleonic army parade ground, and the island’s oldest club, Gymnasticos, was founded in 1893.

Corfu now boasts five cricket grounds and eleven clubs, and the game is extremely popular.  Cricket Week, in July, sees top teams, both local and from abroad, competing at a high standard.
