Our opinion: A popular hotel with many loyal fans, the Irilena makes a restful, comfortable base from which to explore all the island has to offer.

Situated in the heart of Lassi on the main road, this traditional, friendly family-run accommodation offers an ideal base from which to make the most of all the area has to offer; tavernas, restaurants and shops can all be found just minutes away. Attractive spotlessly clean rooms offer comfortable accommodation, and there is a quiet garden at the rear providing the ideal space for a spot of sunbathing or relaxing with a good book. The hotel bar is the place to go to chat with other guests over an aperitif before dinner, or a nightcap after. The sandy beach of Makris Yialos is approximately 600 metres away and the peninsula of Lassi, located northwest of Argostoli, is one of the most popular areas in the island. It is known for its natural beauty and here you will find The Lighthouse of Saint Theodori with marvellous architecture and stunning sunsets. Lassi has many beautiful beaches, which are among the most cosmopolitan of the island.

Our opinion: Traditional accommodation with scenic views.

The Maria Anna Hotel offers a traditional, family run accommodation situated at the top of the resort of Lourdas. The hotel gives you scenic views overlooking either Kefalonia's highest mountain or the sea. It has its own pool for you to relax around and is situated approximately 2 kms away from the beach, which is found at the bottom of a winding road that leads you through the hilly resort. Once at the bottom you will be rewarded with a beautiful beach made up of white sand and shingle. The hotel is situated close to the resort's good selection of tavernas, bars and supermarkets. Car hire is recommended to discover the fantastic Kefalonia scenery. Please note that this property is not suitable for those with walking difficulties as it is reached by a steep access road.

Our opinion: Recently refurbished, well maintained accommodation with excellent views.

Set 200 metres from the main Lassi road, up a steep hill, the Irielena Studios and Apartments offer simple accommodation with beautiful views and attractive gardens. All of Lassi's amenities including restaurants, tavernas, bars and shops are within easy reach. The sandy Gradukia beach is just 800 metres away and the main Makris Yialos beach is approximately a 15 minute walk away. The studios and apartments at Irielena Studios offer simple self-catering facilities. There's everything you may need for a great self catering holiday, offering the perfect base for a relaxing holiday in the sun. Please note that some walking may be required from the coach upon arrival. Due to its elevated position and the number of steps to this accommodation, it is not suitable for those with walking difficulties. A torch is recommended for returning at night.

Pack a good pair of walking shoes for the winding hill roads and car hire is recommended to discover this beautiful island.

The modern and well maintained Socrates Studios are situated just off the main Scala high street, offering a good standard of accommodation in a charming resort. All rooms are on the first or second floor and have sea or mountain views. Downstairs you will find a traditional taverna run by the owners, serving home cooked dishes. The main beach of Scala is a mere 10 minute walk away. The resort of Scala offers a relaxed atmosphere, with daily life revolving around the beautiful beach where you will find golden sands, clear waters and plenty of water sports activities available. Enjoy a warm evening strolling around the resort centre with its many cafe-bars and restaurants to discover and which is just a ten minute walk away.
