HammametProbably the best known resort in Tunisia, Hammamet has flourished from a small fishing village to a perfect holiday spot with its medley of sea, sand, sun and skies. The area is perfumed with the scent of orange and lemon groves as well as cypress trees. Historical architecture such at the well preserved 13th century Kasbah is worth visiting especially for its amazing views over the domes of the 15th century Medina and white sands of the coastline. Today the new quarters provide a variety of bars, cafes and shops. Sidi Bau SaidThis beautiful Moorish village is situated just 20km north east of Tunis, perched on cliffs that overlook the Bay of Tunis. This blue and white village is full of Andulusian style houses and cobblestone streets that wind their way to a vantage point with views of the sea and mountain of Bou Kornine. There are plenty of little quaint shops selling handicrafts and silver jewellery as well as an art gallery and a museum that was formerly the palace of Baron d'Erlanger. If you venture to the foot of the cliffs you will discover the Port of Sidi Bou Said, a modern marina with a choice of restaurants to dine at. |

ClimateClimate for Tunisia HolidaysNorthern Tunisia has a typical Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers (June-August) and mild, wet winters (December-February). Tunis' high temperatures top out around 32°C (90°F) and drop no lower than 6°C (40°F). The mountains of the northwest occasionally get snow, while the farther south you go, the hotter and drier it gets.
