Holidays in All Resorts

Tunisia's spectacular desert sands provide an unforgettable memory with its salt lakes, palm tree oases and seductive sunsets.

And if it's shopping that you are after, brush up on your bartering skills as they will certainly be required if you feel like stopping at one of the many bustling souks where exotic rugs and carpets, enamelled jewellery, affordable leather goods and hand crafted items are all displayed in a fusion of colour.

In fact one could go as far as saying that Tunisia is an open museum with Roman amphitheatres and spectacular ruins scattered along its coastline and further inland.

At a crossroad with many cultures, Tunisia is a modern country with traditional values, European in many respects and yet Arabic in many others.

Our opinion: "Hammamet"

  • Narrow streets
  • Shops
  • Fine sand beaches

Hammamet is located roughly halfway between Sousse and Tunis. Although it's a popular resort, it's a bit more genuine than some of the other tourist spots on the coast.
The old town still has some narrow streets where you find small shops which sell souvenirs. In the modern shopping area of town you will find chic boutiques, good restaurants, cafes and bars. Nightlife is pretty good in Hammamet as is the famous wide sandy beach. Getting about town couldn't be easier, either by taxi or on the Noddy train, both inexpensive.

The 'sights' of the town include the Medina with a large mosque , Arab baths (Hammams) and many artisans working pottery. Hammamet is the most significant centre of pottery in Tunisia, this art is transmitted between the generation of wire father, as well as the Golf of Hammamet, represented by long ranges with fine sand, a modern succession of hotels.

    Port El Kantaoui

  • Beautiful Harbour
  • Beautiful architecture
  • Entertainment

With its 1300km of coasts and a sun shining almost permanently, this country offers the first garden harbour of the Mediterranean : Port El Kantaoui, an international class haven.

A town only built for tourism. But Port el Kantaoui is a highly successful "ghetto". It offers beautiful architecture, a great beach, reasonable shopping and plenty of restaurants.
Port el Kantaoui has enough to offer most travellers. The trips out on the ocean are very nice and refreshing in the middle of summer.

    Sidi Bau Said

  • Finest beach resorts

  • Cosmopolitan resort

  • Fashionable boutiques

  • Sidi Bou Said, this very "oversmart" little town, is situated not far away from Tunis and Carthage on the Mediterranean coast. It was named in honour of the saint Bou-Said Halaf El Bedgi.

Today's Sidi Bou Said is a small fascinating town. A combination of two colours: bright blue doored and windowed white small houses draw your attention appealing to be inserted in the picture. Stroll leisurely through serpentine narrow neat as new pin streets. You are amazed at an organic combination of old and new: Andalusian styled blue front doors with modern interphones and ancient pig-iron door knockers. Up-to-the-minute expensive cars are visible in the courtyards of low small houses that look a lot alike.
