Travelling to Cyprus

Everything you need to know before you go

This page gives specific information about travelling to Cyprus.  Please also see our main Travelling with Confidence section for general information and details about arriving back in the UK after your holiday.

Travel restrictions and entry requirements are in place for most countries and can change with little notice. It is your responsibility to check the relevant local government websites and comply with all up to date entry requirements for your destination before you travel.

Current requirements for travelling to Cyprus

  • 48 hours before your departure, you must complete an arrivals form online
  • All passengers, regardless of vaccination status must present a PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to your departure to Cyprus, or a supervised Antigen rapid test taken 24 hours prior to departure.
  • When arriving in Cyprus, all passengers will have to undergo a PCR test. You have to isolate in your hotel room until the result of the test. The cost for the test is 15 Euro in Larnaca airport and 19 Euro in Paphos airport.
  • Failure to provide the correct documents may result in your carrier not allowing you to travel and will likely result in the Cypriot authorities refusing you permission to enter Cyprus.
  • All passengers entering the Republic of Cyprus, are required to undergo a rapid antigen test upon completion of 72 hours from the time of their arrival with the exception of passengers who have received the 3rd dose of an acceptable vaccine against COVID-19.It is understood that persons under the age of 12 are not required to undergo PCR diagnostic test for COVID-19.
  • You must wear a face mask at all times when on an aeroplane, bus, train or ferry travelling to or from Cyprus; and whilst at airports.
  • The precise rules, including any exemptions based on vaccination status, are subject to change and passengers should follow any instructions given on arrival at immigration or airport testing facilities.

Public spaces and services

The use of a face mask is compulsory in all indoor and outdoor public spaces for everyone aged 6 and above. Failure to comply with restrictions may result in a €300 fine.

People aged 6 and above require a SafePass to enter venues including malls, catering establishments, some sports facilities etc. See further information on the SafePass regulations and requirements.

Cyprus will accept the UK’s proof of COVID-19 vaccination record and proof of COVID-19 vaccination issued in the Crown Dependencies. If you are travelling with a printed PDF proof of vaccination status, it must date from 1 November 2021 to ensure that the certificate can be scanned successfully. Your NHS appointment card from vaccination centres is not designed to be used as proof of vaccination and should not be used to demonstrate your vaccine status.

You can find full details of the latest measures introduced by the Cypriot authorities on this information page and more generally, including on SafePass/CoronaPass, on the Press & Information Office website

Please refer to UK Government Foreign Travel Advice website for further updates. We recommend that you sign up for the FCDO travel advice email alert, so you automatically receive the latest travel alert for the destination you are travelling to.  You must have adequate travel insurance in place for your holiday.
