Things To Do
The Billionaire Club is by far Porto Cervo’s best-known party palace. Tucked into a hillside on the outskirts of town, this three-storey villa attracts superstar celebs from around the world. Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Ne-Yo and Will Smith have all been papped on the dancefloor. Its crystal chandeliers and plush, white furnishings spill out onto a balcony where you get sea and mountain views – so you can soak up the scenery as you sip from your flute of Moet.
Things To See
Louise Alexander Gallery - Visit this gallery for temporary exhibitions showcasing works by contemporary artists, such as the recent one zooming in on the portrait sculptures of American artist Barry X Ball. It also sells modern art, so if you’re in the market for a Warhol or Lichtenstein, drop them a line.
Sottovento - Bono, Craig David and Denzel Washington have all been spotted at this exclusive club. Getting in is no party and depends entirely on the whim of the stony-faced bouncers.
Billionaire - Opened by former Formula One boss Flavio Briatore in 1998, Billionaire’s dance floor is like a who’s who of the absurdly rich and famous. Star DJs like Craig David. It’s almost impossible to get in unless you happen to know someone or book dinner at the swank restaurant.
Chiesa di Stella Maris - Perched above Porto Cervo is Michele Busiri Vici’s surreal white church with a funnel-shaped bell tower. The church hosts classical-music concerts in the summer. Unsurprisingly, it’s also done rather well in the donations department, receiving El Greco’s impressive Mater Dolorosa as a Dutch aristocrat’s bequest.
