Landscape of love
With cosmopolitan towns and sleepy villages, Crete offers you the chance to be as active or leisurely as you please.
The birthplace of Zeus, father of all Greek Gods, Crete was also the foundation of the Minoan Empire and the legend of the Minotaur, and has breathtaking mountain scenery as well as beautiful, golden beaches and crystal-clear waters. Weddings can take place at a town hall or a featured hotel.
Wedding vows at Aghios Nikolaos are taken at the edge of a peaceful lake by a small church, with fishing boats around the water's edge.
Rethymnon has town halls of both modern and traditional architecture. The city is full of historic buildings, including mosques and a Venetian fortress, set around a picturesque harbour on a scenic coast. The modern venue is between the new and old towns, while the older hall is the former 14th Century St Lazarus Chapel, set in a Venetian house. The chapel can host civil ceremonies, but must be reached by a short walk in a pedestrian area.
