This is a locality of antiquated stone houses and towering mansions, which are the former homes of olive and silk merchants. Nowadays, there are plentiful beach bars, coffee spots and tavernas to choose from, as well as handful of souvenir shops selling locally crafted products.

From quaint villages and tucked away beaches, to walks and hikes on the slopes of Mount Pelion itself, there is plenty at your doorstep when you stay in Afissos. The small city of Volos is just 15 miles up the coastline too, if you want to do more sightseeing, visit the marina restaurants, or embark on boating day trips.
