Sightseeing in Mykonos

Mykonos offers a wonderful combination of traditional Cycladic beauty, cultural landmarks and stunning coastal scenery, making it one of the most popular sightseeing destinations in the Greek islands.

Mykonos Town (Chora) is the heart of the island and one of the most picturesque towns in the Cyclades. Visitors can explore its maze of narrow cobbled streets lined with whitewashed houses, colourful balconies, boutique shops and charming cafes. The town is also home to the island’s famous windmills and the beautiful waterfront district of Little Venice, known for its sunset views and elegant seaside atmosphere.

One of the island’s most important historical attractions is the nearby island of Delos, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most significant archaeological sites in Greece. According to Greek mythology, Delos was the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis. Visitors can explore ancient temples, mosaics, statues and ruins dating back thousands of years.

Mykonos is also home to beautiful churches and monasteries, including the iconic Paraportiani Church, one of the most photographed churches in Greece due to its unique Cycladic architecture.

Beyond the town, visitors can discover scenic beaches, hidden coves and traditional villages such as Ano Mera, which offers a quieter and more authentic side of the island. The village is known for its peaceful square, local tavernas and the historic Panagia Tourliani Monastery.

Whether exploring historical sites, wandering through charming streets or enjoying breathtaking sea views and sunsets, sightseeing in Mykonos offers the perfect blend of culture, beauty and cosmopolitan island charm.
