Organised excursions in Paxos are fairly low‑key and tend to focus on the island’s natural beauty rather than big, structured tours. Most are small group or informal trips, often centred around the sea or nearby islands.
One of the most popular options is a boat excursion around Paxos itself. These trips usually take you along the dramatic west coast, where you’ll see the famous Blue Caves and towering white cliffs. Boats often stop for swimming in hidden coves with incredibly clear water, and some tours include a relaxed beach stop where you can swim or have lunch. You can choose anything from larger group boats to smaller, more personal trips with a skipper.
Another very common excursion is a day trip to Antipaxos, the tiny island just south of Paxos. It’s known for its Caribbean‑like beaches, especially Voutoumi and Vrika, with white sand and turquoise water. Organised trips typically include a few hours on Antipaxos for swimming and relaxing, plus time cruising around parts of Paxos on the way.
Many excursions also combine Paxos and Antipaxos in one day, so you get both the caves and the beaches in a single trip. These are easy to book locally in Gaios, Lakka, or Loggos, and they run frequently in summer.
There are also organised trips from Paxos to Corfu, which can be nice if you want a change of pace. These usually take you into Corfu Town for a few hours of sightseeing, shopping, and exploring the old Venetian streets, before returning to Paxos in the afternoon.
If you prefer something more relaxed or customised, private boat charters are widely available. You get a skipper who will take you wherever you like—caves, beaches, quiet swimming spots—and you can go at your own pace. It’s more expensive, but very popular for couples or small groups.
On land, organised excursions are more limited, but you’ll occasionally find guided walking tours or minibus tours that take you around the villages, viewpoints like Erimitis, and quieter inland areas. These are less common than boat trips but a good option if you want some local insight without driving yourself.
In practice, most people mix one or two organised boat excursions with independent exploring. The boat trips are really the highlight of organised activities in Paxos, because so much of what makes the island special is best seen from the water.
