Poros has one main town and several small settlements/neighbourhoods that function like resort areas.

It does not have many distinct villages like larger Greek islands. The core settlement is Poros Town, with additional coastal and inland areas considered hamlets or resort zones.

Poros Town (Chora)

The capital and harbor of the island and the only true town. It is built amphitheatrically on Sferia and contains the port, shops, restaurants, hotels, and the clock tower. It is the administrative and cultural center.

Askeli

A busy seaside area northeast of Poros Town. It has a long beach, many hotels, and tourist facilities. It is one of the island’s main resort zones.

Neorio

A coastal hamlet northwest of Poros Town. It is not officially a village but functions as a tourist settlement with hotels, tavernas, and beaches.

Ágios Nektários

A small inland settlement on Kalavria. Listed as one of the island’s smaller villages.

Kyaní Aktí (Blue Coast)

A seaside resort area near Askeli, mentioned as a tourist zone.

Fousa

A small inland settlement on Kalavria.

Traditional Neighborhoods (within Poros Town)

These are parts of Poros Town, not separate villages, but they are often referred to as distinct areas:

Kastelli

The oldest residential area on Sferia, near the Clock Tower.

Pounta

A picturesque waterfront corner with fish taverns, before the Dana Lighthouse.

Brinia & Mylo

Hillside neighborhoods with traditional houses and an old windmill.

Synoikismos

A neighborhood at the start of Kalavria, originally settled by Asia Minor refugees.

Poros has a mix of organized, partly organized, and natural beaches, with the most popular being Love Bay, Askeli, Megalo Neorio, Mikro Neorio, Russian Bay, Kanali, and Monastiri. These beaches are consistently identified across multiple independent travel sources.
