Katelios situated on the eastern side of the island, is the perfect destination for a tranquil holiday.Katelios, on the eastern side of Kefalonia, is the perfect destination for a tranquil holiday and some enchanting walks. Spend lazy relaxing on the two small beaches. Agia Varvara, is the main beach and consists of sand and shingle, fringed by pine trees and eucalyptus bushes. A short walk past the river and you’ll find yourself on the second beach of Agia Barbara. For the chance to see nesting loggerhead turtles we highly recommend Kaminia, also known as Turtle Beach, it is only a two kilometre walk away and well worth the visit. One of Kefalonia’s longest beaches, leisurely stretch out on the colourful sunbeds and gaze out at the endless expanse of blue sea, with shallow waters ideal for a refreshing swim after your walk there. If you're a fan of walking, then this really is the perfect base from which to get out and about, where you can enjoy up close the wild flowers and rare bird life that are prevalent in this area. Typically and authentically Greek, Katelios is where you come to disconnect and reconnect with life. It’s unashamedly unhurried here and great for enjoying evenings mixing with locals in the friendly tavernas and fish restaurants. Still within easy reach of the busier towns, we recommend hiring a car to make even more of your holiday. Visit nearby Skala, which is only a 10 minute drive away, or Argostoli, the Island’s capital, which is 32 kilometres away.

Skala holidays are growing steadily in popularity but have retained their relaxed village atmosphere. The rugged and unspoilt scenery along the glimmering coastline and an attractive waterfront lined with tavernas, keep visitors returning to this area.Still oozing a relaxed village vibe; traditional tavernas complement sophisticated bars in the popular seaside resort of Skala in Kefalonia. Holidays to Skala revolve around the blue flag beaches, vast expanses of both shingle and sand and are much loved by couples and beach lovers. The area boasts a three kilometre stretch of sublime beach, bordered by fragrant pine trees. For peace and quiet, head to the southern end of the beach where you’ll love the rocks and caves, perfect for exploring. Knock on Apollo’s door at the ancient temple and take a stroll up the hill to see the ruins and a glimpse into how Skala once looked, long before it evolved into the vibrant new town it is today. Or why not pop on your hiking boots and take the eight kilometre walk to Poros to explore another village and the beaches there?

Poros is perched on Kefalonia's south-east coast is the beautiful little village of Poros. Many of Kefalonia's visitors never make it to this quiet corner of the island, which once used to be a big tourist hub in the early 1980s. These days, larger resorts nearby, such as Skala, attract huge numbers of holiday-makers, allowing Poros to remain a tranquil spot for those looking for a truly chilled-outbreak.Poros is a verdant village on the southeast side of the island, surrounded by mount Atros and mount Pahni. It used to be one of the first villages on Kefalonia to welcome organised tourism in the early 80s, but since the late nineties and until present day the resort of Skala has become the main tourist attraction of the area. However, Poros remains a working port which links Kefalonia to mainland Greece and the neighbouring islands
