What Taxis are like in Rhodes

Taxis in Rhodes are widely available and are one of the easiest ways to get around the island, especially if you’re staying outside Rhodes Town or visiting beaches and villages that buses don’t reach frequently.

  • Official taxis are dark blue with a roof taxi sign
  • Most drivers speak basic English
  • Cash is still common, though many taxis now accept cards
  • Summer demand can be very high, especially at the airport and in Lindos

You’ll find taxi ranks in:

  • Rhodes Town
  • Mandraki Harbour
  • Faliraki
  • Lindos
  • Rhodes Airport
  • most major resorts

If you're needed to get somewhere for a set time or a remote location, definitely prebook your taxi and make sure you have the drivers number if you need a return trip. Your hotel reception can also call a taxi for you or speak to your representative for a phone number local to your resort.

The system is built around two main operators:

Together, they cover most towns, beaches, resorts, and villages.

Roda Buses

RODA mainly serves:

KTEL handles the longer island routes:

  • Lindos
  • Faliraki
  • Archangelos
  • Kiotari
