Bouboulina Museum
A privately run museum in the former home of Laskarina Bouboulina, the naval heroine of the Greek Revolution. It contains personal belongings, weapons, documents, and a famous carved wooden ceiling. Guided tours explain her life and the island’s role in 1821.
Museum of Spetses (Hatzigiannis-Mexis Mansion)
Located near Dapia in an 18th‑century mansion built by a wealthy shipowner. Exhibits include traditional costumes, naval artifacts, and archaeological finds from the island. The building itself is a prime example of Spetsiot architecture.
Agios Nikolaos Church
One of the most important churches on the island. Known for its marble bell tower and its role in the Greek Revolution, as this is where the revolutionary flag was raised in 1821. The courtyard offers views over the harbor.
Anargyros Mansion
A grand neoclassical mansion built by benefactor Sotirios Anargyros, who played a major role in the island’s early 20th‑century revival. The exterior is a landmark near Dapia.
Dapia (New Port)
The central hub of Spetses, lined with neoclassical buildings, the Poseidonion Hotel, and waterfront cafés. Ideal for walking and observing the island’s architectural style.
Old Port (Baltiza)
A historic harbor with traditional boatyards, fishing boats, and preserved mansions. It is one of the most atmospheric areas for an evening walk. The old shipbuilding sheds show the island’s maritime heritage.
Kastelli
The oldest part of Spetses, originally a fortified settlement. Narrow lanes, traditional houses, and elevated views over the town.
Spetses Beach (Town Beach)
A small, clear-water beach near the town center. Good for a quick swim and coastal views.
Forest and Coastal Paths
The island has a circular coastal road and several pine‑covered paths offering views of coves, cliffs, and the Saronic Gulf. Walking or cycling these routes is one of the best ways to experience the landscape.

A well‑reviewed activity offering horseback riding through pine forests or along the coast. Suitable for beginners and experienced riders.
