Cyprus is known for warm water, long swimming seasons, and a mix of sandy resort beaches, dramatic sea caves, and quieter natural coves. The south and east coasts generally have calmer turquoise water, while the west coast is more rugged and scenic.
Paphos
Coral Bay Beach offers soft sand, protected swimming and is very family friendly with a good balance between facilities and scenery.
Corralia Beach - Located next to Coral Bay with shallow water and fewer crowds
Lighthouse Beach - located near to the Paphos lighthouse. Known for scenery and sunsets and coastal walks.
Alykes Beach - An organised beach area near to the Kato Paphos beach promenade where you can combine beach and restaurants in a central area.
Lara Beach is more remote and is a protected beach. Accessible at certain times of the year as is a protected turtle nesting beach.
Polis and Latchi
The beaches in this area are generally quieter, more natural and less devloped. The water is often exceptionally clear with a mix of sand, pebbles and rocky coves. This area is also home the Blue Lagoon. The Blue Lagoon is really only accesible by boat.
Latchi Beach - located reight by the harbour. Has a great sunset atmosphere and very easliy accessible to the restaurats by the harbour
Polis Municipal Beach - This beach has a quieter local feel and is good for long walks and calm swimming.
Pissouri
Pissouri Bay Beach - Surrounded by white cliffs, the water is usually clear and calm in good weather although does get deep very quickly. This makes it ideal for swimming and snorkeling.
Limassol
Ladys Mile Beach - a long stretch of beach on the outskirts of Limassol. Famed for its shallow water. A very relaxed vibe and popular with locals
Dasoudi Beach - Located in the heart of Limassol with cafes and bars near by and organised facilities.
Governors Beach - Known for its white limestone cliffs, swimming coves and darker sand. Great for snorkelling
Larnaca
Finikoudes Beach - This is the best known beach in central Larnaca with its palm lined promenade, shallow calm water and easy access with cafes and restaurants directly opposite.
Mackenzie Beach - A very popular lifestyle beach. The airport is located near to this beach...so for those that enjoy watching flights land and take off...this is ideal.
CTO Beach / Pyla Area - Located towards Dhekalia and is a wide sandy beach that passes by most of the big hotels in this area.
Ayia Napa
Nissi Beach - Probably the most famous beach on the island with white sand, shallow turqoise water and a lively atmosphere.
Makronissos Beach - Boasts a more relaxed atmosphere than Ayia Napa central beaches, and calm water perfect for swimming
Landa Beach - Between Nissi Beach and Makronissos, this is a smaller sheltered bay area with sand and relaxed swimming
Pantachou Beach - This stretches from the east side of Ayia Napa harbour passing all the hotels in that area. Very popular for morning swims and easy access from the hotels.
Protaras
Fig Tree Bay - a classic postcard- style beach with golden sand, excellent snorkelling and a small off shore inlet.
Konnos Bay - a smaller scenic cove between Ayia Napa and Protaras nut known for its pine covered cliffs, and kayaking / snorkelling
Green Bay - A favourite snorkelling and diving area
Sunrise Beach - A long beach that passes directly along the main Protaras Strip. Rsalily accessible from hotels in that area, and lots of activities available.
Kalamies Beach - A small sheltered beach near to Pernera, and good for families due to its quieter atmosphere.
