Kalymnos Resorts
POTHIA
Pothia is the capital and main port of Kalymnos, and the cultural and economic center of the island. It is built amphitheatrically around a large natural harbor, with colorful houses climbing up the surrounding hills, creating one of the most distinctive and lively landscapes in the Dodecanese. The town has a strong local character and feels more like a working Greek town than a tourist resort, offering an authentic glimpse into everyday life on the island.
MASOURI
Masouri is the main tourist village of Kalymnos and the most lively place to stay on the island. It stretches along a beautiful beachfront facing the small island of Telendos, which creates one of the most iconic views in the area, especially at sunset. The village has a relaxed but social atmosphere, with a continuous line of restaurants, cafés, bars, and small shops along the coast. During the day, people spend time at the beach, which has clear water and a mix of sand and pebbles, while in the evening the area becomes more vibrant with dining and drinks by the sea.
MYRTIES
Myrties, located right next to Masouri, offers a completely different atmosphere even though it is only a few minutes away. It is a much smaller and quieter village, built around a charming little harbor with fishing boats and traditional houses. The pace of life here is slower and more peaceful, making it especially appealing for couples or anyone looking to relax away from crowds. The village has a more authentic and local feel, with fewer restaurants and shops, but those that exist tend to be traditional tavernas with a calm and intimate setting. One of the most important features of Myrties is its connection to the nearby island of Telendos, as small boats depart frequently from the harbor and reach the island in just a few minutes.
VLYCHADIA
Vlychadia is a small, quiet coastal village on the eastern side of Kalymnos, known for its peaceful atmosphere and natural beauty. It lies about ten kilometers south of Pothia, the island’s main town, and feels far removed from the busier tourist areas such as Masouri. The setting is particularly scenic, with a narrow bay surrounded by rocky hills and clear, calm waters that make it ideal for swimming and relaxing by the sea.
EMPORIOS
Emporios is a small, remote village on the northwestern coast of Kalymnos, known for its peaceful atmosphere and unspoiled natural surroundings. It is one of the least developed areas on the island, giving it a very authentic and traditional character. The village sits around a quiet bay with clear blue water, backed by steep hills and rugged landscapes that create a sense of isolation and calm.
